In an arrangement to supply ink to a print head unit having a print head, an input, and an output, a back-pressure tank having ink is provided and connected with the input of the print head unit. A degassing unit for ink and having an input and an output is also provided. A first selector valve is connected to the degassing unit input, the first selector valve in a first position establishing a connection of the degassing unit with the output of the print head unit. A second selector valve is connected to the degassing unit output, the second selector valve in a first position establishing a connection of the degassing unit with the back-pressure tank.

Arrangement to supply a print head unit having at least one print head with ink in an ink printing apparatus

In a system or method for supplying print bars with a plurality of print heads with ink in an inkjet printer, a pressure source is activated in a flushing procedure in order to exert an excess pressure to the ink in intermediate tanks supplying ink to the print bars such that the ink is flushed through jets of a print head to be flushed in the respective print bar. The pressure source is shut off when printing. The ink in the intermediate tanks is transported to the print heads by means by hydrostatic pressure. In the event of an overflow of the intermediate tanks, overflowing ink is transported into an overflow container via a respective pressure line connecting the overflow container to the respective intermediate container.

Method for supplying at least one print head with ink in an inkjet printer

In an inkjet printer at least one print head is provided via which ink droplets are ejected onto a recording material. An intermediate ink container supplies ink for the print head. A pumping device pumps ink which is then supplied into the intermediate ink container at an ink inlet from the pumping device. At least one current director is arranged at a distance from a floor within a region of the intermediate ink container and is angled such that ink flowing out of the ink inlet from the pumping device flows in a radial direction at an angle of inclination and is deflected by the floor or a container wall of the ink container such that an ink current is generated via which a stirring of the ink occurs.

Inkjet printer to print to a recording material

A device for post-processing of printed print substrate webs comprises a smoothing device that is arranged immediately after the fixing device. The toner (still hot and doughy in terms of its consistency) is compressed with a predetermined pressure over a width of the print substrate web. It is thus achieved that less abrasion of the toner occurs in the further process and a specifically altered print image is generated.
