Systems and methods provide flow control for uplink traffic in an integrated access and backhaul network. A first relay node determines that its uplink buffer has reached an occupancy level higher than a pre-determined level. In response, the first relay node transmits, to a second relay node associated with the first relay node, a message indicating a buffer occupancy status of the uplink buffer of the first relay node.

A processor determines that a UE operates in a DRX cycle including a DRX-on duration followed by a DRX-sleep duration. The processor configures a plurality of periodic uplink CG occasions within the DRX cycle. Each uplink CG occasion supports uplink transmission of a predefined size. The processor reads a data buffer to determine a size of accumulated data. At a given uplink CG occasion, the processor compares the size of accumulated data with an upper threshold data size and a lower threshold data size. Responsive to a first comparison result, the processor transmits the accumulated data over one or more uplink CG occasions starting from the given uplink CG occasion. Responsive to a second comparison result, the processor transmits a BSR at the given uplink CG occasion. Responsive to a third comparison result, the processor transmits neither the accumulated data nor the BSR at the given uplink CG occasion.

Processor and user equipment for reducing power consumption during DRX

The present disclosure is related to multi-access traffic management in multi-access computing environments. A reliability enhancement engine (REE) operated by a multi-access multipath traffic manager identifies traffic flows that have high reliability requirements ('reliability flows') and performs admission control for the reliability flows. The REE determines a coding rate (e.g., a redundancy factor) and traffic distribution strategies for the identified reliability flows. The REE applies cross-access network coding (NC) on the reliability flows, and handles multi-access acknowledgements and traffic pacing, which may involve multiplexing traffic of the reliability flows with non-high-reliability traffic. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Reliability enhancements for multi-access traffic management

A network controller may configure one or more channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) configurations for transmitting RSs to user equipments (UEs) for tracking. A CSI-RS configuration may specify a set of CSI-RS resources for transmitting RSs in two consecutive slots. The set of CSI-RS resources may include a plurality of one-port CSI-RS resources configured according to the CSI-RS configuration. The CSI-RS configuration may specify a quasi co-location (QCL) configuration including a set of QCL parameters, where a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) has a QCL relationship with the RS with respect to the set of QCL parameters. The network controller may signal the one or more CSI-RS configurations to UEs.

Technology for an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node in an IAB network is disclosed. The IAB node can decode, at a distributed unit (DU) of the IAB node, a first resource request received from one of a user equipment (UE) or a child IAB node, wherein the first resource request is associated with the UE. The IAB node can encode, at a mobile terminal (MT) of the IAB node, a second resource request for transmission to the parent IAB node or the IAB donor triggered by receipt of the first resource request, wherein the second resource request is transmitted prior to a receipt of a protocol data unit (PDU) at the DU of the IAB node.

Embodiments disclosed herein include methods and apparatuses that enable the UE to transmit message 3 in an NTN network. A gNB can include, a time duration indicating the time at which the UE should transmit message 3. The network can ensure that the UE has adequate time to apply the timing advance, assemble and transmit message 3. The UE can compute time of UL grant application based on a timing advance. The time of application of the UL grant can be determined by the UE and by the gNB according to a specified rule.

User Equipments (UEs) may be assigned a set of aggregated component carriers for downlink carrier aggregation and/or carrier selection. Some UEs may be incapable of transmitting uplink signals over all component carriers in their assigned set of aggregated component carriers. In such scenarios, a UE may need to perform SRS switching in order to transmit SRS symbols over all of the component carriers. Embodiments of this disclosure provide various techniques for facilitating SRS switching. For example, a radio resource control (RRC) message may be used to signal a periodic SRS configuration parameter. As another example, a downlink control indication (DCI) message may be used to signal an aperiodic SRS configuration parameter. Many other examples are also provided.

This disclosure provides techniques for recovery techniques to address link failure in multi-hop backhaul relay network. For example, a central unit (CU) node receives, uplink transmissions originating from a user equipment (UE) via a backhaul relay including a first distributed unit (DU) node and a second DU node. The CU then receives a first UL status message associated with a link failure between the first DU node the second DU node. Then the CU generates a second UL status message indicating a sequence number (SN) of a lost packet caused by the link failure or a SN of a last successfully received packet before the link failure, and transmits the second UL status message to the first DU node.

Uplink (UL) retransmission and radio link failure (RLF) recovery in a multi-hop relay network

A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a network for transmission of a plurality of data bursts further comprising a plurality of data segments. The UE may transmit, to the network, a first data segment corresponding to a first quality of service flow identifier (QFI) associated with a first quality of service (QoS) flow and a second data segment corresponding to a second QFI associated with a second QoS flow. The UE may be configured to map one or more data segments to one or more QFIs based on at least one of a slice type, a frame type, a modulo operation, and a sequence number. The plurality of data bursts may be transmitted according to at least one of one or more configured grants (CGs), one or more dynamic grants (DGs), and one or more instances of the one or more CGs or one or more DGs.

Communication coordination and power saving techniques for extended reality applications

A user equipment (UE), or other network component can operate to generate listen-before-talk (LBT) operations in order to manage power consumption by configuring the discontinuous reception (DRX) in a dynamic manner. The UE can configure an extended active time for the DRX based on whether the LBT is successful and an acquisition channel indication from a base station, e.g., a next generation NodeB (gNB). The UE can operate aperiodic wakeup occasions with or independently of periodic DRX on-durations to better manage power while monitoring a channel for unlicensed carrier communications.

An apparatus and system for reducing URLLC latency are described. A single packet mode is described in which, when a packet arrives at the PDCP layer for transmission, an indication is sent to a scheduler with the expected size of the packet after ciphering. The packet is then sent to the RLC layer and concurrently submitted to the ciphering engine to enable ciphering to occur in parallel with the other activities. The scheduler determines the expected TB size for transmission of the packet by determining the size of the PDCP, MAC, and RLC headers. The scheduler matches the resource allocation for transmission to the expected TB size.
