Methods and devices are disclosed for managing Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) service registration on a wireless communication device having at least one SIM that supports IMS services. The wireless communication device may access network operator policies stored in the SIM(s), and identify enabled IMS services for each SIM. The wireless communication device may also identify, based on the accessed network operator policies, a registration type for each enabled IMS service on each SIM, determine whether to perform a single registration or a dual IMS registration for each of the at least one SIM, perform the determined registration using the accessed network operator policies, and maintain registration of the enabled IMS services for each SIM.

Systems and methods for managing different types of registrations for IMS services on SIMs of a wireless communication device

A method, apparatus, and computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The method generally includes registering a UE with an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) server for one or more native services and non-native services, wherein the UE comprises a modem processor and an application processor. The IMS server may comprise an RTP stack, wherein a portion of the RTP stack resides on the MP and a portion on the AP. A data packet may be received having an identifier of one of the native or non-native services. The data packet may be received from a WWAN or IWLAN. The data packet may be forwarded to the MP or to the AP based on the identifier. According to aspects, the data packet is forwarded to the MP if the identifier indicates an audio service and to the AP if the data packet indicates a video service.

Evolved hybrid internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) architecture

Methods implemented on mobile devices and stored on non-transitory process-readable storage media enable selectively blocking tune-ways to functionalities of a Dual-subscription, Dual-standby (DSDS) mobile device to avoid impairing high-priority calls. An embodiment method implemented in a call manager executing on a processor of the DSDS mobile device may include determining whether a tune-away is blocked based on whether a high-priority call (e.g., VoLTE call) is active on a first functionality, and blocking the tune-away to a second functionality in response to determining that the high-priority call is active on the first functionality. The method may further include allowing the tune-away to the second functionality in response to determining that the high-priority call is not active on the first functionality. In some embodiments, the first functionality may be a packet-switching subscription (e.g., a LTE subscription) and the second functionality may be a circuit-switching subscription (e.g., a GSM subscription).
