A neurostimulation device includes a plurality of electrodes adapted to be electrically connected to a subject to receive multichannel electrical signals from the subject's brain, a multichannel seizure detection unit electrically connected to the plurality of electrical leads to receive the multichannel electrical signals, and a neurostimulation unit in communication with the multichannel seizure detection unit. The plurality of electrodes are at least three electrodes such that the multichannel electrical signals are at least three channels of electrical signals, and the multichannel seizure detection unit detects a presence of a seizure based on multichannel statistics from the multichannel electrical signals including higher order combinations than two-channel combinations.

Seizure detection device and systems

A method includes utilizing navigation data from a navigation system to segment a route to be travelled by a travelling vehicle into segments each having a road grade different than neighboring segments. The method further includes discharging a battery of the vehicle as the vehicle travels along an initial segment of the route according to a state-of-charge (SoC) set-point based on the road grade of the initial segment and a variable representative of the road grades of at least two other segments of the route.

Electric vehicle and method of battery set-point control

A path-dependent control of a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) includes segmenting an original route into segments. A virtual route based on the remaining portion of the original route is generated once the HEV reaches a current segment of the original route. The virtual route includes a first segment corresponding to the current segment of the original route and a last segment representing at least two other segments of the remaining portion of the original route. Battery SoC set-points for the segments of the virtual route are generated. The vehicle is controlled according to the battery SoC set-point for the first segment of the virtual route as the vehicle travels along the current segment of the original route.

An apparatus for optimal control of distributed actuator and sensor arrays includes a control system having a state estimator including an operator which acts on estimation error through convolution with respect to a spatial variable to generate a state estimate, and a control output generator which applies a control operator to the state estimate through convolution with respect to the spatial variable. A method of designing an optimized control system includes the steps of obtaining a system model, computing a transform of the model with respect to the spatial domain, solving linear matrix inequalities to generate auxiliary variables, performing an inverse transform on the auxiliary variables, and computing an estimator operator and a control operator for a model-based estimator control system.
