A tape drive of the type for withdrawing a magnetic tape together with a leader block connected to the leading end thereof out of a tape cartridge so as to record and reproduce the information onto or off of said magnetic tape. In addition to driving sources for driving a supply reel disposed in the tape cartridge and a take-up reel, a single power source is provided for accomplishing the opening or closing of a door of the housing, the vertical movement of the housing, the displacement of the leader block and the pushing or ejection of the tape cartridge out of the housing.

In order that a printing paper feed device is able to be set in an inoperative condition with a simple operation and that the printing paper feed device is able to return automatically to an operative condition with restart of a printer, a printing paper feed releasing device for printers is provided with a releasing lever able to bring a printing paper guide to the releasing position, a lock lever able to lock the releasing lever in the operated position, and a supporting shaft or a cam plate able to bring the lock lever to the position, wherein the lock against the releasing lever will be released when the printer restarts.

The printer includes a slide member adapted to be reciprocally moved by a drive source. The printer comprises a paper cutting member reciprocally movable for cutting the printed paper, a connecting member connected to the paper cutting member and arranged so as to be engaged with and disengaged from the slide member, and an electromagnetic device adapted to be actuated by a paper cutting signal for controlling the engagement and disengagement of the connecting member with and from the slide member, to thereby permit the cutting member to be engaged by the slide member by the electromagnetic device when activated by the paper cutting signal so as to actuate the slide member for operating the paper cutting member.

A printer of the type in which a receipt paper and a journal paper are arranged in parallel to each other, after the receipt paper and journal paper have been transferred in a horizontal direction, the receipt paper is passed through a vertically moving cutter device and issues from the printer in a horizontal direction whereas the journal paper is turned upwardly and wound about a take-up roll; printing drums for the receipt paper and the journal paper are disposed below a horizontal paper transfer plane and printing devices for the receipt paper and the journal paper are disposed above the horizontal paper transfer plane to print on the undersurfaces of the papers, which makes it easy to mount an optical printing drum position detector on the printer.

The cutter blade receiving member is reduced in thickness in a portion above the slit so as to form a step on the side of the receiving member where the cutter blade of the cutter device enters the slit.

The paper cutting and perforated line forming device of a printer including a slide plate pivoted to the machine frame of the printer for reciprocal movement. The paper cutting and perforrated line forming device comprises a spring-loaded paper cutting lever device pivoted to the printer machine frame and connected to the printer cutting device for moving the cutting device to the operative position when rocked against the spring load, a slide plate connection lever connected to the paper cutting lever device for rocking the lever device by the movement of the slide plate in one direction, a slide plate connection lever operation member to be operated by an electromagnetic device, a switching lever movable into and out of the operation path of at least one of the paper cutting device and paper cutting lever device. The paper cutting lever device includes a first lever pivoted to the slide plate connection lever and machine frame and a second lever pivoted to the machine frame and cutting device in an angular position relative to the first lever, whereby the paper cutting and perforated line forming operations are selectively performed on a paper.

An electric shutter means so made that, in order to make the consumption of a current source battery as little as possible, during the period from the beginning of the operation of a self-timer by pressing a release button to the end of the operation, only the passage of an electric current to an electromagnet to start the motion of closing a rear blade may be prevented or a very small current may be made to flow to said electromagnet and, simultaneously with the closure of a current source switch by pressing the release button, an exposure warning circuit and exposure time indicating circuit may be held in an operating state.

A mechanical exposure controlling means for electric shutters comprising a front blade actuating lever, a rear blade actuating lever, and a mechanical exposure controlling lever and bulb controlling lever which can be brought to a position in which they are engageable with the rear blade actuating lever so that, when said mechanical exposure controlling is brought to the position in which it is engageable with the rear blade actuating lever, an exposure may be made only at a specific shutter speed and, when said bulb controlling lever is brought to the position in which it is engageable with the rear blade actuating lever, a bulb exposure may be made. When the mechanical exposure controlling lever and bulb controlling lever are brought to the position in which they can be engaged with the rear blade actuating lever, the exposure time controlling circuit will be cut off from the current source battery.

An electric shutter comprising a front blade actuating lever, a signaling lever engageable with said front blade actuating lever and a rear blade actuating lever capable of releasing said signaling lever so that the signaling lever may rotate fully in a predetermined range only at the time of such state that the rear blade actuating lever begins to move prior to the front blade actuating lever by the shutter release and the photographer may be informed by the rotation of the signaling lever of the fact that the exposing operation of the shutter is not being properly made.
