A heat exchange tube is formed by using a sheet member not clad with a brazing material layer, with bonding regions at which ends of the sheet member are overlapped and brazed by using a brazing material. This structure reduces the extent to which the brazing material becomes dispersed while the heat exchange tube is brazed and the likelihood of dissolution due to erosion, which makes it possible to assure the desired product quality, such as corrosion resistance, even when a tube material with a smaller wall thickness is used.

Method of manufacturing heat exchanger

A heat exchanger adopts a four-pass structure, including two rows of tubes, a first upper tank portion communicating with the upper end of one of the tube rows, a second upper tank portion communicating with the upper end of the other tube row, a first lower tank portion communicating with the lower end of the one tube row, a second lower tank portion communicating with the lower end of the other tube row, a communicating passage that communicates between first ends of the first and second upper tank portions a partition partitioning each of the first and second upper tank portions, inflow and outflow ports communicating with the other ends of the first and second upper tank portions. The inflow port opening is smaller and has a higher center than the outflow port opening.

Heat exchanger

In tubular portion of a tank, slits are formed in each side face of chambers or across all side faces of the chambers. For partition plates that are to be inserted from the slits, groove portions in which the partition plates are fitted are formed by cutting portions to which the partition plates butt. The slits are formed in the chambers at positions relatively shifted from each other in a direction in which tubes are layered. This structure guarantees that, in the tank for a heat exchanger, bypass leakage of a heat exchange medium between sub-chambers is prevented from occurring when the partition plates are inserted in the tank from the slits provided on the tank side faces. Further, the tank can maintain required strength even if the slits are formed in it.

A tube for a heat exchanger which is formed to have beads for dividing passages for a medium in the tube by roll forming, wherein base portions of the beads are formed to have a thickness (B) greater than a thickness of a plate material for the tube. The roll forming has a first step of sequentially bending the plate to have a depressed shape to form portions-to-be-bead which are to be intermediate forms of the beads, a second step of performing a width drawing of the portions-to-be-bead and a third step of compressing the portions-to-be-bead, after the second step, in a direction of the height of the beads, wherein a width (w&prime;) of the depressions of the portions-to-be-bead ( ) in the first step is larger than a width (w) of depressions of beads ( ) after forming, and a height (h&prime;) of portions-to-be-bead ( ) after the second step is determined to be higher than a height (h) of the beads ( ) after forming. Thus, the tube for a heat exchanger having a pressure resistance of the base portions of the beads improved and a method for producing the tube for a heat exchanger which can decrease an uneven thickness of the plate when the beads are formed are obtained.

In a laminated heat exchanger, an intake portion and an outlet portion for heat exchanging medium are provided at one end portion in the direction of lamination. The intake portion is made to communicate with a most upstream pass distance from the one end portion in the direction of lamination via a communicating pipe, and the outlet portion is made to communicate with the most downstream pass at one end portion in the direction of lamination. The communicating pipe is further made to communicate with an odd-numbered pass in the vicinity where the odd-numbered pass changes from the even-numbered pass that immediately precedes it. In addition, the intake portion at one end portion in the direction of lamination is made to communicate with the pass immediately preceding the most downstream pass. Since the heat exchanging medium flows in sufficiently quantity through the tube elements in the vicinity of the downstream side of the partitioning portion, inconsistency in the temperature distribution can be avoided thereby achieving an improvement in heat exchanging efficiency.

Heat exchanger and method of producing the same

In a laminated heat exchanger, an intake portion and an outlet portion for heat exchanging medium are provided at one end portion in the direction of lamination. The intake portion is made to communicate with a most upstream pass distanced from the one end portion in the direction of lamination via a communicating pipe, and the outlet portion is made to communicate with the most downstream pass at one end portion in the direction of lamination. An air conditioning system for an automotive vehicle has a central air outlet, and a pair of left and right air outlets arranged at left and right sides of said central air outlet, which are provided at least one of front and rear portions of the vehicle compartment. A center vent passage extends from a first diverging point and leads to the central air outlet. A side vent passage extends from the first diverging point in a manner separated from the center vent passage and leads to the left and right air outlets. The side vent passage has a pair of left-hand and right-hand vent passages extending from a second diverging point located at a different position from the first diverging point and leading to the left and right outlets, respectively.
