A light source distribution element for headlight device includes: a first light guide portion that is located between a first joint surface of an incident portion and a first emission portion, and is to guide light from the first joint surface of the incident portion to the first emission portion; and a second light guide portion that is located between a second joint surface of the incident portion and a second emission portion, has a first reflection surface formed on one of opposite side faces of the second light guide portion and a second reflection surface formed on the other one of the opposite side faces, and is to reflect light from the second joint surface of the incident portion by using the first reflection surface and the second reflection surface to guide the light to the second emission portion.

A gear shift adjusting mechanism includes: an adjustment unit including a first slider; an adjustment target module including a second slider; and a switch unit including a first rotation shaft and a link member supported rotatably with respect to a fixing member about the first rotation shaft. The link member includes a first engaged part that is engaged with a first engaging part of the first slider and a second engaged part that is engaged with a second engaging part of the second slider. The switch unit moves at least one of the first rotation shaft, the first engaging part, or the second engaging part so that at least one of a first distance between the first rotation shaft and the first engaging part or a second distance between the first rotation shaft and the second engaging part is changed.

A light irradiation device includes a light source, a projection optical system, wedge prisms, and an aberration correction surface. The projection optical system projects an image formed based on light emitted from the light source. The aberration correction surface corrects an aberration occurring when the image is projected by the projection optical system. The wedge prism deflects the light emitted from the projection optical system. The wedge prism deflects the light deflected by the wedge prism. The wedge prisms are held so that a deflection direction of light emitted from the wedge prism is changed by rotation of at least one of the wedge prisms. The aberration correction surface is on the wedge prism side with respect to an emission surface of the projection optical system, and is located on the projection optical system side, with respect to the wedge prism, including an incidence surface of the wedge prism.

A headlight device includes a light source unit to emit first light, a first optical unit to change a light distribution pattern of incident first light, a light-reception unit to detect incident second light, a second optical unit to project the light distribution pattern in a predetermined projection direction and receive incident light traveling in a direction opposite to the projection direction, a third optical unit to emit the first light toward the second optical unit and emit incident light that has passed through the second optical unit as second light toward the light-reception unit, and a fourth optical unit to focus the second light and direct toward the light-reception unit. The light distribution pattern is controlled based on a detection result of second light in the light-reception unit.

An illumination device includes a light source, a pair of wedge prisms, and a driving portion. The pair of wedge prisms deflect incident light. The driving portion includes a gear and a gear, and causes the pair of wedge prisms to rotate about a rotation axis by using the gear and the gear. The pair of wedge prisms include a wedge prism held by a barrel and a wedge prism held by a barrel. The barrel is disposed inside the barrel. A gear whose center axis is the rotation axis is provided on an outer periphery of the barrel. A gear whose center axis is the rotation axis is provided on an inner periphery of the barrel. The gear is disposed on an outer peripheral side of the gear and meshes with the gear. The gear is disposed on an inner peripheral side of the gear and meshes with the gear.

An edge part of the first optical surface close to the lens surface includes a first edge part and a second edge part differing from each other in a position in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis of the lens surface, and a position of the second edge part in a direction of the optical axis is closer to the lens surface than a position of the first edge part in the direction of the optical axis.
