Provided are a sputtering target composed of a Cu&#x2014;Ga sintered compact that has a further reduced oxygen content and can suppress abnormal discharges, and a method for producing the same. The sintered compact has a component composition containing a Ga content of 20 at % or higher and less than 30 at % with the balance being Cu and inevitable impurities, and has an oxygen content of 100 ppm or lower and an average grain size of 100 &#x3bc;m or less, and exhibits the diffraction peaks assigned to the &#x3b3; and &#x3b6; phases of CuGa as observed in X-ray diffraction, wherein the main peak intensity of the diffraction peaks assigned to the &#x3b6; phase is 10% or higher relative to that of the diffraction peaks assigned to the &#x3b3; phase.

Sputtering target and method for producing same

Oxide-coated Fe powder for producing various electromagnetic circuit components requiring high resistivity is provided. The oxide-coated Fe powder is a Mg-containing oxide film-coated iron powder coated with an Mg&#x2014;Fe&#x2014;O ternary-based deposition film at least containing (Mg, Fe)O. The (Mg,Fe)O is a crystalline MgO-dissolving wustite. A method for producing a soft magnetic metal powder coated with a Mg-containing oxide film, comprising the steps of adding and mixing a Mg powder with a soft magnetic metal powder which has been subjected to heating treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature of 40 to 500&#xb0; C. to obtain a mixed powder, and heating the mixed powder at a temperature of 150 to 1,100&#xb0; C. in an inert gas or vacuum atmosphere under a pressure of 1&#xd7;10to 1&#xd7;10MPa, while optionally tumbling; and a method for producing a composite soft magnetic material from the soft magnetic metal powder coated with a Mg-containing oxide film.

Composite soft magnetic sintered material having high density and high magnetic permeability and method for preparation thereof

A solid resin-coated composite magnet powder for producing an improved anisotropic bonded magnet contains individual anisotropic magnet powder particles each having a surface coated with a solid resin layer thereon. A method is disclosed for producing a solid resin-coated magnet powder, including the steps of kneading an anisotropic magnet powder with a solid resin under a reduced pressure, granulating the resultant mixture to produce a solid resin-coated composite magnet powder, and milling the composite magnet powder produced to separate the solid resin-coated composite magnet powder into individual anisotropic magnet powder particles coated with the solid resin.
