A branching device for enclosing a hybrid fan-out cable the hybrid fan-out cable comprising plural optical cables and power cables, the branching device includes: an enclosure having a first end, through which the hybrid fan-out cable is inserted, and a second end that is opened; and a gasket provided at the second end of the enclosure and having plural through-holes; and a cover thread-coupled to the second end of the enclosure to fasten the gasket to the second end of the enclosure in such a manner that the through-holes are exposed. In the enclosure, the hybrid fan-out cable is branched out into plural individual sub-part cable components, and each of the sub-part cable components is drawn out through one of the through-holes of the gasket to the outside. The gasket is formed from an elastic material which forms a tight seal between the inner peripheral surface of the enclosure and with the outer peripheral surface of each of the sub-part cable components to seal the other end of the enclosure.

Disclosed is a wide-band dispersion controlled optical fiber. The optical fiber enables the use of optical signals in various wavelength regions in a wavelength division multiplexing mode communication network by controlling the position of the zero dispersion wavelength, and enables long distance transmission by controlling dispersion slope and bending loss. Furthermore, there is an advantage in that the optical fiber enables not only short distance transmission but also middle/long distance transmission using a single type of optical fiber because the optical fiber is controlled to have negative dispersion values in the O-band wavelength region and positive dispersion values with small deviations in the C-band and L-band wavelength regions.

Amplifying optical fiber and method for fabricating the same

A wide band dispersion-controlled fiber which comprises a core forming an optical signal transmission path and having a peak refractive index, and a cladding surrounding the core and having a peak refractive index lower than the peak refractive index of the core. The wide band dispersion-controlled fiber further comprises at least one dispersion control layer arranged between the core and the cladding and having a refractive index profile such that its refractive index increases from an inner periphery to an outer periphery. The minimum refractive index of the dispersion control layer is less than the peak refractive indices of the core and cladding.

An optical fiber preform manufacturing method whereby a clad layer and core layer are deposited on the inner surface of a preform tube for forming a deposited tube. One end of the deposited tube is shrunk and closed. The deposited tube which has a closed end is arranged extending vertically through a circular heater. A heat is applied to the deposited tube at a temperature lower than the softening point of a deposited tube, exhausting contaminants existing in the interior of the deposited tube while moving the circular heater. There is provided a dispersion-managed fiber preform and a fabricating method thereof preform by modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD). A core and a clad having the refractive index distribution of an optical fiber with a positive dispersion value are uniformly deposited in a glass tube. The preform with the positive dispersion value is heated at every predetermined period with a torch and the heated preform portions are etched to have a negative dispersion value.
