Phosphor compositions having the formula EuMAGQNX, where M is at least one of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Cd, Sn, Pb or Zn; A is at least one of B, Al, Ga, In, Bi, Sc, Y, La or a rare earth element other than Eu; G is at least one of Si or Ge; Q is at least one of O, S, and Se; X is at least one of F, Cl, Br and I; 0&#x3c;e&#x3c;2, 0&#x3c;m&#x3c;2, 0&#x2266;a&#x3c;1, 0&#x3c;g&#x3c;1, 0&#x3c;q&#x3c;4, 0&#x2266;n&#x3c;2, 0&#x2266;x&#x3c;2, and 2e+2m+3a+4g=2q+3n+x; and light emitting devices including a light source and the above phosphor. Also disclosed are blends of EuMAGQNXand one or more additional phosphors and light emitting devices incorporating the same.

Phosphor and blends thereof for use in LEDs

A phosphor comprises europium, at least two alkaline-earth metals, and at least a Group-13 metal. In one embodiment, the phosphor has a formula selected from the group consisting of SrAEuDOand SrAEuDO; wherein A is at least an alkaline-earth metal other than strontium; D is an element selected from the group consisting of Group-13 metals, group-3 metals, and rare-earth metals; 0&#x3c;a&#x3c;4; 0.001&#x3c;z&#x3c;0.3; and 4-a-z&#x3e;0. The phosphor can be used in light sources and displays.

An electron emissive composition comprises a barium tantalate composition in an amount of about 50 to about 95 wt %; and a ferroelectric oxide composition in an amount of about 5 to about 50 wt %, wherein the weight percents are based on the total weight of the barium tantalate composition and the ferroelectric oxide composition. A method for manufacturing an electron emissive composition comprises blending a barium tantalate composition in an amount of about 50 to about 95 wt % with a ferroelectric oxide composition in an amount of about 5 to about 50 wt % to form an electron emissive precursor composition, wherein the weight percents are based on the total weight of the barium tantalate composition and the ferroelectric oxide composition; and sintering the composition at a temperature of about 1000&#xb0; C. to about 1700&#xb0; C.

Composite electrode materials for electric lamps and methods of manufacture thereof

An electron emissive composition comprises a barium tantalate composition of the formula (Ba, Ca, Sr, D)(Ta, W, E, F, G, Ca)Owhere &#x3b4; is an amount of about 0 to about &#x2212;3; and wherein D is either an alkali earth metal ion or an alkaline earth ion; E, F, and G, are alkaline earth ions and/or transition metal ion; x is an amount of up to about 0.7; y is an amount of up to about 1; p and q are amounts of up to about 0.3; and t is an amount of about 0.05 to about 0.10, u is an amount of up to about 0.5, v is an amount of up to about 0.5 and w is an amount of up to about 0.25. A method for manufacturing an electron emissive composition comprises blending a barium tantalate composition with a binder; and sintering the barium tantalate composition with the binder at a temperature of about 1000&#xb0; C. to about 1700&#xb0; C.
