In an embodiment, a wireless node (e.g., UE or BS) receives from a network component (e.g., BS or core network component) a request for a positioning estimate of a UE associated with a specified time. The wireless node performs positioning measurements at a plurality of times, and determines (e.g., via interpolation or extrapolation) the positioning estimate associated with the specified time based on the positioning measurements. The wireless node transmits, to the network component, a report comprising the determined positioning estimate.

A user equipment (UE) receives scheduling information for Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) for positioning that includes multiple reserved occasions to transmit the SRS. The multiple reserved occasions may be used on all or on only a subset of configured SRS resources. The UE transmits the positioning SRS on a reserved occasion that is first available for transmission, e.g., without collision or other restrictions of transmission of the SRS. The UE does not transmit the positioning SRS on any earlier reserved occasions that is not available or any subsequent reserved occasions. The base station may reassign unused reserved occasions to other UEs or to other channels. The base station may report positioning measurements with associated time stamps for the reserved occasion on which the positioning SRS was received.

Supporting scheduling of sounding reference signals

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for UE positioning are described. In some embodiments, a UE is configured to perform positioning measurements according to capabilities of the UE. Over time, the capabilities may change. Based on a change, the UE reports, to a location server, an indication that the capabilities have changed. This indication can include updated capabilities information or an error related to previously reported capabilities information and/or availability of the updated capabilities information. In turn, the location server may indicate, to the UE, updated assistance data and/or a request for updated location information, such that next position measurements performed by the UE may be based on the updated assistance data and/or the request.

Systems and techniques are provided for performing Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) signal acquisition. For example, an example of a method for performing QZSS signal acquisition includes obtaining a modulated message signal using a frequency band and generating, based on an estimated set of signal acquisition parameters associated with an acquired signal, an energy grid of correlation codes. A series of extracted data bytes can be generated for each respective hypothesis of a plurality of hypotheses, based on a location of a peak energy within the energy grid of correlation codes. A correct hypothesis out of the plurality of hypotheses can be determined, wherein the correct hypothesis is associated with a generated series of extracted data bytes that includes a pre-determined header preamble pattern. The modulated message signal can be decoded using an initial code phase associated with the correct hypothesis.

Systems and techniques for quasi-zenith satellite system (QZSS) signal acquisition

Aspects presented herein may improve the efficiency, accuracy, and/or latency of a UE positioning procedure by enabling mobility analytics associated with a UE or a set of UEs to be exchanged between a location server and an NWDAF, either directly or via another network entity. In one aspect, a first network entity transmits a request for mobility data associated with a set of UEs, where the request for the mobility data is transmitted for a second network entity associated with mobility data analytics. The first network entity receives, based on the request, an indication of the mobility data associated with the set of UEs. The first network performs at least one location function for at least one UE in the set of UEs based on the indication of the mobility data.

Disclosed are various techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of measurement gap (MG) configurations, each MG configuration defining one or more MGs. The UE may send, to a serving base station, a request to use a first MG configuration from the plurality of MG configurations, and may receive a response to the first request. The UE then measures positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response. Based on measurements of the first set of positioning signals, the UE may select a second MG configuration, send a second request to use the second MG configuration, and receive a response to the second request. The UE then measures a second set of positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response to the second request.
