An apparatus may include an ultrasonic sensor array and a control system. The control system may be configured to acquire first image data generated by the ultrasonic sensor array corresponding to at least one first reflected ultrasonic wave received by at least a portion of the ultrasonic sensor array from a target object during a first acquisition time window. The control system may be configured to acquire second image data generated by the ultrasonic sensor array corresponding to at least one second reflected ultrasonic wave received by at least a portion of the ultrasonic sensor array from the target object during a second acquisition time window that is longer than the first acquisition time window. The control system may further be configured to initiate an authentication process based on the first image data and the second image data.

Ultrasonic imaging devices and methods

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for obtaining blood pressure measurements are presented. The blood pressure measurements may be obtained by determining a pulse-transit time (PTT) as a function of a photoplethysmography (PPG) measurement and electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement. A mobile device includes outer body sized to be portable for a user of the mobile device. The mobile device also includes a plurality of light emitting components distributed along at least one portion of the mobile device and a plurality of light collecting components configured to measure reflected light from the plurality of light emitting components reflected off of blood vessels within the user. The light emitting and light collecting components are distributed along the at least one portion of the mobile device. The mobile device may also include a light guide configured to direct light emitted by the at least one light emitting component toward blood vessels with the user.

System and method for obtaining blood pressure measurement

In an embodiment, a vehicle controller determines a predicted driving performance level of a vehicle driving control entity (VDCE) while the vehicle is controlled by a different VDCE. Driving control is transitioned to the VDCE, after which an actual driving performance level of the VDCE is monitored. The vehicle controller determines whether to transition driving control away from the VDCE based on the actual driving performance level. In another embodiment, after transition driving control to a VDCE, a period of heightened scrutiny used to evaluate the actual driving performance level of the VDCE specifically after the transition.

A wearable otoscope may be capable of wireless or wired communication with a second device, such as a smart phone. Some dual-ear otoscope implementations may be provided in a headphone-like configuration, which may include a headband attachable to earbuds of the dual-ear otoscope. However, some alternative implementations do not include a headband. At least a portion of the dual-ear otoscope may be a disposable component in some examples. In some implementations, functionality of the dual-ear otoscope (such as an illumination angle of light, imaging functionality, etc.) may be controlled according to commands received from the second device. Some examples may include one or more additional sensors, such as temperature sensors.

Techniques for associating environmental information with fingerprint images for fingerprint enrollment and matching are presented. The techniques may include capturing, using a fingerprint sensor of a mobile device, one or more images of a fingerprint. The techniques may include analyzing the one or more images to obtain fingerprint information associated with the fingerprint. The techniques may include obtaining, via an orientation sensor of the mobile device, environmental information indicating an orientation of the mobile device associated with the capturing of the one or more images. The techniques may additionally include generating, using the fingerprint information, an enrollment template for the fingerprint. The techniques may include associating the enrollment template with the environmental information. The techniques may include storing the enrollment template and the environmental information in a memory of the device, wherein the stored enrollment template is associated with the environmental information.

In general, techniques are described for maintaining occupant awareness in vehicles. A device configured to maintain occupant awareness in a vehicle comprising: a processor and a display may be configured to perform the techniques. The processor may determine a location at which an occupant is gazing, and generate, when the determined location indicates that the occupant is not focused on a direction in which the vehicle is traveling, one or more contextual images capable of assisting the occupant in maintaining awareness of a context in which the vehicle is currently operating. The display may present, based on the determined location, the one or more contextual images proximate to the determined position within the cabin of the vehicle to assist the occupant in assuming control of the vehicle when the vehicle is no longer able to autonomously control the operation of the vehicle.

A mobile device may perform authentication with an authenticating entity. The mobile device may comprise a plurality of sensors and a processor. The processor may be configured to: receive an authentication request from the authenticating entity requesting authentication information; and determine if the authentication request satisfies predefined user privacy preferences. If so, the processor may be configured to: retrieve the authentication information from at least one sensor to form a trust vector in response to the authentication request and to command transmission of the trust vector to the authenticating entity for authentication.

A wearable device may include a sensor system capable of obtaining physiological from a user's body. Some wearable devices may include a substance delivery system. A sensor system of a wearable device may include at least one 'bio-assurance sensor' capable of obtaining biometric data that may be used to identify a user. For example, the bio-assurance sensor may be used to ensure that the wearable device is not removed from the user's body and/or placed on or in another user's body. In some examples, the wearable device may be used with a second device, such as a smart phone, that includes at least one 'authentication sensor,' such as a fingerprint sensor, that also may be used to identify a user. However, in some implementations the wearable device may include at least one authentication sensor.

Methods and devices are disclosed for managing a resource of a communication device configured to process and communicate medical data in addition to other data. The systems and devices may implement the method, including determining whether to switch to a medical mode based on at least one signal. In response to determining to switch to the medical mode, the communication device may be switched to the medical mode. A resource status associated with a plurality of resources used by the communication device may be weighed against a medical data criticality associated with the medical data managed by the communication device. The method may include allocating a resource of the plurality of resources on a sliding priority scale. The allocating may include allocating a resource of the plurality of resources preferentially to the medical data over the other data.

The present application relates to acquiring sensor data at a user equipment (UE). The described aspects include receiving a first input representing a request to activate one or more sensors. The described aspects further include activating, by a controller at the UE, the one or more sensors in response to receiving the first input. The described aspects include determining whether a sensor adjustment condition has been satisfied. A stethoscope system may include an array of sensors, which may include pressure sensors. The array may be implemented in a wearable 'patch' that is conformable to a patient's body. The stethoscope system may include a control system that is capable of receiving signals from the array of sensors. The signals may, for example, correspond to measurements from multiple pressure sensors of the array. The control system may be capable of combining signals from multiple pressure sensors to produce combined signals. The control system may be capable of filtering the combined signals to remove, at least in part, breathing signal components and to produce filtered signals. The control system may be capable of determining a correspondence between heart signal components of the filtered signals and corresponding heart valve activity.
