The present disclosure relates to procedures for random access channel (RACH) type selection and random access response (RAR) monitoring. Specifically, the present disclosure may configure a user equipment (UE) and network entity to perform RACH type selections, determine mapping ratios, perform mapping procedures for orphan PRACH resources, monitor one or multiple RAR messages within an extended RAR window, and facilitate RAR type differentiation.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a configuration that indicates one or more measurement objects, wherein a measurement object of the one or more measurement objects indicates a synchronization signal block (SSB) frequency of a configured bandwidth part (BWP). The UE may determine, from the one or more measurement objects, a serving cell measurement object based at least in part on an active BWP of the UE, wherein the serving cell measurement object is associated with an SSB frequency in the active BWP. Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a base station may determine a transmit power to be used by a downstream node or an amplification gain to be used by the downstream node when relaying or repeating messages to a target node. The base station may transmit, to the downstream node, a message intended for the target node, the message having an indicated transmit power, wherein the message intended for the target node is transmitted by the base station using an actual transmit power. In some aspects, the indicated transmit power is the transmit power to be used by the downstream node, so that when the message intended for the target node is repeated by the downstream node, the indicated transmit power of the repeated message matches the actual transmit power of the repeated message.

Measurement and power control in integrated access fronthaul networks

A first apparatus may determine a first schedule associated with the one or more repetitions of the control information on the control channel based on the first information. The UE receives a cell-defining synchronization signal block (CD-SSB) that defines a shared initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs and non-RedCap UEs. The UE switches to a separate initial downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE accesses the cell via the separate initial downlink BWP. The UE receives a configuration of an active downlink BWP for RedCap UEs. The UE determines whether to switch from the active downlink BWP to the shared initial BWP or the separate initial downlink BWP to obtain information such as updated system information, system measurements, and uplink configuration information.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a capability of the UE to support a restricted bandwidth for data signaling. The UE may receive an indication of a bandwidth part for control signaling and an indication of a set of frequency domain resources for the data signaling. The set of frequency domain resources may correspond to a subset of the bandwidth part in accordance with the restricted bandwidth. The UE may communicate the control signaling over the bandwidth part and data signaling over the set of frequency domain resources. In some cases, the bandwidth restriction may correspond to a bandwidth size for the set of frequency domain resources or a number of resource blocks in the set of frequency domain resources.

The UE may receive a synchronization signal block (SSB). The UE may receive a configuration of an active downlink bandwidth part (BWP) that is not configured with a SSB. The UE may tune, from the active downlink BWP to a different frequency for a layer 1 (L1) measurement gap defined by a L1 measurement gap configuration. The UE may perform a L1 measurement of the SSB on the different frequency during the L1 measurement gap. The UE may be a RedCap UE, the active BWP may be for RedCap UEs, and the SSB may define an initial BWP for the RedCap UEs and non-RedCap UEs, and the different frequency may be the initial BWP.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a message that indicates a first initial uplink bandwidth part for use by the UE in communications with a network entity, the message also indicating a plurality of random access occasions, at least one of the plurality of random access occasions being in frequency resources that are outside of the first initial uplink bandwidth part. The UE may select a random access occasion of the plurality of random access occasions for transmission of a random access preamble from the UE to the network entity. The UE may transmit, as part of a random access procedure, the random access preamble within the random access occasion.

Bandwidth part configuration for reduced capability devices

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) ordered random access channel (RACH) procedure. The RACH procedure may be associated with a cell-defining synchronization signal block (SSB) or non-cell-defining SSB. A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting an indication of one or more capabilities of the UE, receiving a PDCCH that orders the UE to perform a RACH procedure on an uplink carrier based on the one or more capabilities of the UE, determining a minimum gap between a last symbol of the PDCCH and a first symbol of a RACH message, wherein the minimum gap includes a half-duplex (HD) switching delay, and performing the RACH procedure on the uplink carrier when a gap between the last symbol of the PDCCH and the first symbol of the RACH message is equal to or larger than the minimum gap.

PDCCH ordered random access channel procedure for reduced capability user equipment

There is a need for a beam tracking technique that reduces the time needed to perform a beamforming procedure and that reduces beam overhead. The apparatus may determine a mapping between a first beam associated with a first type of channel and a second beam associated with a second type of channel. In an aspect, the first type of channel may be different than the second type of channel. The apparatus may receive the first beam associated with the first type of channel and the second beam associated with the second type of channel. In an aspect, the first beam and the second beam may be received from a second device.

In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform a random access (RACH) procedure based on a selected synchronization signal block (SSB). During this RACH procedure, a base station may transmit physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) messages for UE RACH message handling. To receive PDCCH signaling for RACH Messages 2, 3, or 4 (Msg 2/3/4), the UE may identify a set of time resources used by the base station for transmitting SSBs that are not quasi-co-located (QCL) with the selected SSB. The UE may identify a Msg 2/3/4 search space that does not overlap with this identified set of resources, and may monitor this identified search space. The search space may correspond to a modified remaining minimum system information (RMSI) search space indicated by the base station, or a valid RMSI search space not indicated by the base station.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A synchronization signal block (SSB) may be dynamically scheduled within an operating bandwidth of a user equipment (UE), where the operating bandwidth of the UE is outside of a frequency resource in which a cell defining SSB (CD-SSB) is scheduled. For example, a UE may operate in a reduced capability mode or an enhanced reduced capability mode where the UE may operate in a narrower bandwidth than the serving cell bandwidth. Control signaling may dynamically configure an SSB for the UE within the operating bandwidth of the UE. The UE may monitor for the non-cell defining SSB (NCD-SSB) and skip monitoring for the CD-SSB based on the dynamically configured NCD-SSB. For example, a reduced capability UE or an enhanced reduced capability UE may monitor for the NCD-SSB without performing RF retuning between receiving the control signaling and monitoring for the NCD-SSB.
