Enhanced procedure for early measurement reporting

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for logging of measurement results performed while a wireless communication device is in an inactive or idle state such that the logged information includes information that indicates a status of the respective carrier when logging the measurement results. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises receiving a measurement configuration(s) for performing early measurement on a carrier and performing the early measurement on the carrier in accordance with the measurement configuration(s) to provide measurement results. The method further comprises logging the measurement results along with information that indicates a status of the carrier when logging the measurement results. By logging the information that indicates the status of the carrier when logging the measurement results, operations performed based on the measurement results can be more reliable.

The node or WD is configured to perform at least one timing measurement over a measurement period (T) on signals transmitted between the node or WD and another node or WD and, during T, determine if there is any change in a fixed time offset (FTO) used by the nodes for transmitting a reference signal. If there is a change in the FTO over T, the network nodes or WDs are configured to perform an operational task and, if not, continue performing the timing measurement over T. The operational tasks may include discarding the timing measurement, restarting the timing measurement, extending the measurement time, informing another node about a change in the FTO or informing another node about an action taken by the network node or WD.

A wireless device () 'relaxes' the radio-signal measurements it makes with respect to a wireless communication network (), in the context of using those measurements to determine whether a current Timing Advance, TA, value remains valid for use in transmitting on preconfigured uplink resources, PUR, of the wireless communication network (). Relaxation refers to the length of the interval between making new measurements. According to techniques herein, the wireless device () operates according to an imposed limit on the extent or degree of relaxation, to ensure or at least improve the reliability of the radio measurements with respect to validation of the TA value. Method and apparatus for controlling transmission on preconfigured uplink resources in a wireless communication network

A method performed by a Network Node (NN) for handling Device to Device (D2D) operation between a first D2D User Equipment (UE) and a second D2D UE in a radio communications network is provided. The NN obtains data related to propagation delay in one or more cells served by the NN. The propagation delay is related to any one or more out of: the first D2D UE, the second D2D UE, other D2D UEs, and cellular UEs. The NN then determines whether or not to configure a number of Guard Period (GP) symbols within a switching time resource, as Sidelink (SL) radio resources for the D2D operation. The determining is based on one or more criteria applied to the obtained data related to the propagation delay.

Network node, device to device user equipment, and methods in a radio communications network

Methods performed by a wireless device and a base station for adapting maximum allowed Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) based on operational occasion periodicity are provided. In examples disclosed herein, a wireless device is configured to determine an operational occasion periodicity of a signal that is subject to CCA. Accordingly, the wireless device can determine an association at least between the determined operational occasion periodicity and a maximum number of allowed CCA failures for communicating the signal. The wireless device can then perform one or more operational tasks based on the determined maximum number of allowed CCA failures. By determining the maximum number of allowed CCA failures, the wireless device can obtain information about downlink CCA failures and use the obtained information for adapting measurements procedures in serving cell operational tasks.

A wireless device is configured for use in a wireless communication network. The wireless device obtains a configuration that governs how the wireless device is to monitor for and/or attempt to recover from consistent uplink listen-before-talk (LBT) failure that occurs during a mobility procedure triggered by the wireless device. According to the obtained configuration, the wireless device monitors for and/or attempts to recover from consistent uplink LBT failure occurring during the mobility procedure.

Systems and methods for validating one or more parameters are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for validating parameters includes: obtaining information about measurement change for validating one or more parameters; obtaining information about a number of thresholds and associated thresholds used for validating the one or more parameters; and performing parameter validation based on the obtained information. In some embodiments, this is for a Timing Advance (TA) parameter for a Preconfigured Uplink Resources (PUR) transmission.
