A servovalve assembly includes a motor having a flapper shaft. A flapper couples to a first end of the flapper shaft such that the flapper shaft orients the flapper between a first nozzle and a second nozzle of the servovalve assembly. An adjustment assembly adjusts a position of the flapper relative to the nozzles of the servovalve. The adjustment assembly enables a servovalve manufacturer to set the flapper of the servovalve at a null position without disassembling the servovalve. Rather, the manufacturer is capable of simply installing the adjustment assembly and deforming an arm portion of the adjustment assembly for proper null position calibration.

Methods and apparatus for mechanically adjusting a null offset in a torque motor of a servovalve

A jet reflector servovalve includes a flexure tube and reflector that opposes a fluid nozzle and fluid receivers of the servovalve. During operation, the nozzle directs a pressurized fluid jet toward the reflector. The pressurized fluid travels within a second stage of the servovalve, toward the reflector. The reflector directs or reflects the fluid back toward the fluid receivers to adjust a position of a spool of the servovalve. The configuration of the reflector, the nozzle, and the receivers allows transmission of the pressurized fluid within the second stage of the servovalve and minimizes the necessity for multiple o-rings between the second stage of the servovalve and a torque motor of the servovalve, thereby reducing manufacturing costs of the servovalve.

Methods and apparatus for splitting and directing a pressurized fluid jet within a servovalve

A shock absorber mounted electromagnetically operated real time damper valve which is mounted upon a piston rod and provides a flow path for fluid which bypasses the piston which separates a cylinder of the shock absorber into a pair of fluid containing chambers. The damper valve includes a spool reciprocally mounted within the hollow interior of a housing. A treatably secured cap is used to retain all of the component parts of the valve assembled without the need for other securing devices such as adhesives or brazing of parts together.

Shock absorber mounted real time damper valve

An automatic breaking system which functions by applying a controlled breaking pressure signal through a control valve to each of the four corners of an automotive vehicle in response to input and feedback signals. A centralized computer receives various signals generated by transducers positioned at various positions within the vehicle including at each of the four corners as well as input signals from the vehicle brake peddle. These signals are processed by the computer and then applied through a control system to a direct drive valve which meters the application of the fluid under pressure to the breaks located at each corner of the vehicle. Direct drive valve is a limited angle rotary to linear direct drive valve which includes a housing having a first bore longitudinally disposed therethrough and a second bore disposed transversely therethrough and intersecting the first bore. A valve spool is slidably disposed within a second bore for controlling the flow of fluid under pressure. A motor is disposed within the first bore and includes a limited angle rotary shaft having an eccentrically disposed pin extending therefrom into engagement with a slot and a spool. A spring is disposed within the second bore and continuously urges the spool into engagement with the pin. As signals are applied to the motor the valve spool reciprocates and causes flow of fluid under pressure as above specified.

Anti-lock brake system three way direct drive valve

A shock absorber mounted electromagnetically operated damper valve which is mounted upon a piston rod and provides a flow path for fluid which bypasses the piston which separates a cylinder of the shock absorber into a pair of fluid containing chambers. The damper valve includes a spool reciprocally mounted within the hollow interior of a housing. A retainer is also received within the hollow interior and includes a tube which defines a space between its outer surface and the inner surface of the hollow interior of the housing to receive a skirt extending from the spool.

Shock absorber mounted electromagnetically operated damper valve

A shock absorber mounted electromagnetically operated damper valve which is mounted upon a piston rod and provides a flow path for fluid which bypasses the piston which separates a cylinder of the shock absorber into a pair of fluid containing chambers. The damper valve includes a spool reciprocally mounted within the hollow interior of a housing. A retainer is also received within the hollow interior and includes a restricted orifice which produces a differential pressure across the spool to assist in retaining the spool in a predetermined position in the absence of electromagnetic signal.

A shock absorber for use upon each corner of an automotive vehicle which includes a piston mounted upon a piston rod and appropriately disposed within a cylinder such that the piston separates the cylinder into a pair of operating chambers containing fluid. A damper valve which is electromagnetically operated is seated within the hollow interior of the piston rod. The damper valve includes a sleeve, spool, center pole piece and a coil which are retained within position within the interior of the piston rod by an appropriate adapter. The piston is seated upon an extension of the adapter and is held in place by a nut. Fluid within the chambers flows in a substantially unrestricted fashion through a flow path defined by the damper valve and is restricted in its flow by actuation of the coil to provide an electromagnetic field that moves the spool according to the signal applied.

In-tube shock absorber mounted electromagnetically operated damper valve

A solenoid valve for use in controlling the flow of pneumatic fluid under pressure between a pair of flow ports defined by a housing. The flow of fluid is controlled by a spool disposed within a bore and is movable between first and second positions. When in one of the first and second positions, the spool blocks communication between the ports and when in the other of those positions it allows communication between the flow ports. The spool is reciprocated by a motor means which includes a core of magnetic material connected to the spool so that when the motor is energized, the spool is placed in one of its first and second positions and when the motor is de-energized, a spring moves the spool to the other of its positions.

Solenoid pneumatic valve

A hydrofluidic oscillator including a momentum exchange fluidic amplifier coupled to a four-way reciprocal valve. The four-way valve is connected to control flow of hydraulic fluid from a source thereof to a using apparatus. The fluidic amplifier is connected to provide input signals to the four-way valve to cause the four-way valve to reciprocate responsive to the input signals. Both negative and positive feedback paths are provided from each outlet of the fluidic amplifier to the respective control ports to control oscillation of the four-way valve.
