A slide fastener is provided. A pair of fastener element rows respectively provided along opposing one side edge portions of pair of fastener tapes. A slider is configured to engage and disengage the pair of fastener element rows. Tape members are respectively provided in parallel along another side edge portions of the pair of fastener tapes, that are opposite to the one side edge portions. The tape members are respectively sewn to the another side edge portions of the fastener tapes with sewing threads which bridge over the fastener tapes and the tape members.

Fastener stringer of concealed type slide fastener

A slide fastener stringer having a plurality of coupling elements molded from synthetic resin monofilament woven in a fastener tape in succession along a longitudinal edge thereof, at the same time when the fastener tape is woven, with a plurality of element row binding warp yarns running in parallel to each other. At least two adjacent element row binding yarns disposed on a side toward coupling heads of the coupling elements run over upper and lower leg portions of the coupling elements in the longitudinal direction of the tape, and then run under a foundation weft yarn running below an adjacent coupling element and that adjacent coupling element. Each of the two adjacent element binding warp yarns is woven in this repeating pattern, which suppresses floating of the binding warp yarns after a space portion is formed.

A woven slide fastener stringer comprising a fastener tape comprising a plurality of foundation weft yarns, a plurality of warp yarns, and a plurality of coupling element portions, which are continuously formed of synthetic resin monofilament, woven successively along a side edge of the fastener tape with a plurality of element fixing warp yarns arranged in parallel at the same time when the fastener tape woven. The coupling element portions have such a weaving structure such that a pair of upper and lower leg portions are tightened by the fixing warp yarns and the tightening force on a coupling-head side of the upper and lower leg portions is smaller than the tightening force to a connecting-portion side thereof.

A multicolored cord or a number of multicolored yarns are woven or knitted into the fastener tape 1 along the inner longitudinal edge to produce a thickened reinforced section, thus producing an ornamental portion such as of rainbow colored. Fastener elements of various types may be fitted to the reinforced section of the fastener tape of the a fastener stringer, thus the fastener stringer has a beautiful ornamental portion. When multicolored yarns are used for several warps or warp knitting yarns located adjacent to the reinforced section, a broadened ornamental portion can be produced to enhance the color effect of the fastener stringer that may be used for a dress to improve its color effect.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing a woven slide fastener stringer

In a concealed woven slide fastener stringer, a fastener tape is woven of foundation warp yarns and a double-pick foundation weft yarn, and a coiled fastener element is attached to folded inner margin of the tape by anchoring warp yarns and a double-pick anchoring weft yarn with coupling heads facing inwardly and connecting portions facing outwardly. The foundation weft yarn is interlaced with the outer one of two core cords inserted through the fastener element. The anchoring warp yarns cross the foundation weft yarn between the successive legs; one of the anchoring warp yarns is disposed between the coupling heads and the inner core cord, and two of the anchoring warp yarns are disposed between the core cords. The anchoring weft yarn is interlaced at one end with the outer anchoring warp yarn and at the other end with the foundation weft yarn crossing the inner anchoring warp yarn, thereby fixing the fastener element firmly.

Concealed woven slide fastener

A woven slide fastener stringer which includes a row of coiled coupling elements woven into one longitudinal edge portion of a woven stringer tape with a stuffer cord and upper and lower core threads extending longitudinally through a space defined in the coupling elements. Foundation warp threads and a foundation weft thread laid in double picks cooperate with the upper core thread to weave upper legs in the longitudinal tape edge portion. Binding warp threads underlying lower legs and interlaced at appropriate positions with the foundation weft thread, and the lower core thread are interlaced with a binding weft thread laid in double picks to weave the lower legs into the longitudinal tape edge portion. The binding weft thread is thinner than the foundation weft thread and aligned in parallel juxtaposition with the foundation weft thread in a region of the stringer tape excluding the longitudinal tape edge portion. With this arrangement, the coupling elements can be firmly and stably secured to the longitudinal tape edge portion, and the stringer has a desired flexibility.

Interlacing arrangement in woven slide fastener stringer

A method of and an apparatus for manufacturing a woven stringer for a concealed type of slide fastener having a row of continuous filamentary coupling elements woven integrally into a stringer tape. The row of coupling elements are formed into a continuous helical coil structure which is woven into a longitudinal edge of the stringer tape as the latter is woven and which is oriented so that each of the coupling elements has its heel portion disposed to project transversely beyond the longitudinal edge of the stringer tape and its coupling head portion directed toward a web portion of the tape when the stringer is produced. The resulting stringer when in use is folded back on a longitudinal axis so that the coupling head projects beyond the tape edge but is concealed from view when a pair of such stringers are coupled together.

Method of and apparatus for manufacturing a concealed woven slide

A woven slide fastener stringer is disclosed, which comprises a woven support tape and a row of continuous coupling elements woven into a longitudinal edge of the tape. The coupling elements are securely anchored in place by a minimum number of binding warp threads and a plurality of clamping warp threads which form a cross-sectionally triangular weave structure designed to ensure firm holding of the coupling elements on the tape.

An apparatus for manufacturing woven slide fastener stringers comprises means for shedding a plurality of warp threads, a coiling mechanism for coiling a monofilament of synthetic resin around a mandrel in a conical orbit to form a series of coiled coupling elements and a weft inserter reciprocable across the warp shed and the conical orbit for inserting a weft thread into the warp shed, by which the coiled coupling elements can be woven into a stringer tape along a longitudinal edge thereof as the tape is woven of the warp and weft threads. The weft inserter includes an arm which when the weft thread is inserted is engageable with the monofilament to displace the latter out of the path of insertion of the weft thread so that the weft thread can be inserted smoothly without being frictionally engaged by the monofilament.

Apparatus for manufacturing woven slide fastener stringers

A woven slide fastener stringer comprises a binding thread system extending along a row of continuous coupling elements and fixing the latter to a longitudinal tape edge portion of a woven stringer tape. The binding thread system includes a warp thread extending through a space defined in the coupling element row and underlying the upper legs adjacent to the coupling heads of the coupling elements, and a weft thread having first loops interlaced with the longitudinal tape edge portion and second loops each overlying the upper leg of one of the coupling elements in transverse relation adjacent to the coupling head and underlying the warp thread at positions one on each side of the upper leg, whereby the upper legs are sandwiched between the warp and weft threads.
