A refrigerator includes a storage chamber; an evaporator; an evaporator receiving portion and a defrost water tray slantingly arranged at a lower side of the evaporator receiving portion; a machinery chamber having an evaporation tray; an upper hose communicated with the defrost water tray; a lower hose connected to the upper hose while extending to the evaporation tray, the lower hose being provided, at one side thereof, with an air inlet hole to introduce outside air. The air inlet hole is formed at a slanted mounting surface protruding inside of a vertically-extending portion of the lower hose while being slanted downward. An opening and closing unit is provided in the vertically-extending portion of the lower hose that is configured to open the air inlet hole by an internal pressure of the storage chamber during opening of the door, and to close the air inlet hole by gravity.

Drain hose assembly and refrigerator including the same

A refrigerator, with respect to the refrigerator having a plurality of doors to open/close a storage compartment, capable of adjusting the height of the plurality of doors as to adjust the height difference that occurs between the plurality of doors. A lower hinge module of the refrigerator includes a hinge shaft being inserted into a lower portion of the door, a worm wheel coupled to the hinge shaft so as to be ascended/descended while supporting the weight of the door, and a worm engaged with the worm wheel to rotate the worm wheel.

A refrigerator may prevent an internal door from being opened together by an inertial force when an external door is opened, and may also prevent the external door from being opened together by an inertial force when the internal door is opened. The refrigerator includes a main body, a storage chamber provided in the main body so that a front surface thereof is opened, an internal door rotatably provided at a front surface of the main body so as to open and close the storage chamber and having an opening part in which a plurality of door guards are provided, an external door rotatably provided at a front surface of the internal door so as to open and close the opening part, and an internal door opening prevention device allowing or preventing opening of the internal door according to whether the external door is opened or closed.

A refrigerator including a main body provided with storage chambers, doors to open and close the storage chambers, upper hinge modules to enable one side of the upper end of each door to be rotatably installed on the main body. Main body hinge receipt parts are depressed on the upper surface of the main body to embed rear ends of the upper hinge modules in the upper surface of the main body and door hinge receipt parts are depressed on the rear surfaces of the doors to receive front ends of the upper hinge modules, and thus the main body is located at a height corresponding to the height of the doors, thereby allowing the main body provided with the storage chambers having a wider volume to be used in the refrigerator having a designated height.

A refrigerator may include a drain hose assembly. The refrigerator includes an upper hose, a lower hose connected to the upper hose while being arranged in a machinery chamber, the lower hose being provided with an air inlet hole to introduce outside air, and an opening and closing unit provided at the lower hose to be upwardly pivoted by negative pressure in a storage chamber and to be downwardly pivoted by gravity, in order to open and close the air inlet hole, respectively. As a result, it may be possible to achieve an enhancement in energy efficiency and to reduce the force required to open door according to an improvement of sealing-tightness.

Disclosed herein is a refrigerator including a main body provided with storage chambers, doors to open and close the storage chambers, and lower hinge modules to enable one side of the lower end of each door to be rotatably installed on the main body. The main body includes a main frame integrally forming a lower surface and both side surfaces of the main body and the rear ends of the lower hinge modules are installed on the outer lower surface of the main frame, and thus the thickness of the lower end of the main body is minimized, thereby maximizing the storage capacity of the main body having a designated height as far as a heat insulating ability is not lowered.
