A submarine or surface watercraft is equipped with at least one, preferably supercharged charging diesel engine, which serves to charge the vessel's batteries and which is operated in a controlled and regulated manner during submarine snorkeling mode or during the normal operation of surface watercraft. In at least one embodiment, the exhaust gases produced during the operation of the charging diesel engine are mixed with a flow of water, which is drawn from the water surrounding the vessel and delivered in a regulated manner by a pump while interacting with a negative-pressure generating device, and, in a mixed state, are discharged under water. The operation of the formed negative-pressure generating and mixing device ensues while interacting with the controlling and regulating of the charging diesel engine.

A ship is disclosed which is driven by inboard engines with propellers and by water jets producing jets of water. The inboard engines are embodied in the form of electric motors and the water jets are used underneath the bottom of the ship. The electric inboard engines are accommodated in skegs on the underside of the ship. A flow channel is formed between the skegs for the jets of water emitted by the water jets.

A method for the efficiency-increasing discharging of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines of boats into the water surrounding the boats is disclosed. The exhaust gases and a flow of water drawn from the surrounding water are mixed together in a low air pressure field, the low pressure of the low pressure field being produced by a reduction in the cross-section of the flow of water before mixing ensues.

A reduced pressure mixing device is for marine vessel exhaust gas with water, with the gas/water mixture that is produced in the device being passed out into the water in which the ship is floating. The device is designed such that gas and water flow through and to it longitudinally. Further, the device includes a centrally-arranged gas guide tube for the marine vessel exhaust gas as well as a propulsion water tube which is arranged coaxially around the gas guide tube and produces reduced pressure, with the tubes being located in an elongated housing.

The invention relates to a propulsion system for a fast seagoing ship, especially a naval ship, which comprises a propulsion system driven by at least one water jet produced by a pump assembly with an outlet nozzle for water, and a propeller jet produced by at least one propeller. The water jet carries along gases that are introduced downstream of the pump assembly, especially exhaust gases of at least one drive device which especially comprises a power generation device and a generator. The water jet is generated in at least one water jet drive by means of a pump that is, e.g., driven by an electric motor and whose drive power is generated by e.g. a generator assembly.

Propulsion system for a fast seagoing ship, especially a naval ship

A propulsion system for a large watercraft, e.g., for a high-speed, military surface craft, includes at least one water jet propulsion device (water jet) beneath the vessel. An operating method of such a system includes propulsive energy by combustion engines, e.g., gas turbines, and distributing the exhaust gases created by the combustion engines beneath the vessel in the water by the use of water flow of the water jet system. In such a method, the water flow speed of the water jet system is adjusted in accordance with the requirements of exhaust gas discharge and distribution.
