A phone case includes a cold wallet that holds various cryptocurrencies. A method provides for operation of a smartphone placed in the phone case to interact with the cold wallet. The cold wallet can be incorporated into a system that includes secure storage, a battery, and communications hardware. The system has robust security features, including features that require surface to surface proximity. For example, the system may use wireless charging, which only operates with a limited range. The phone case can use the wireless charging system to send and receive authentication signals from the smartphone. Based on the authentication signals the phone case can power up and connect the secure storage to the rest of the system, thereby only providing secured access to the keys in the cold wallet. After use, the system disconnects the secure storage and the powers down to cold wallet, protecting the private keys.

A method may include receiving, by a software application that may execute on a mobile device associated with an individual operating a vehicle, operational data associated with operation of the vehicle. The method may also include predicting, by the software application, one or more activities that the individual is expected to perform with respect to operation of the vehicle based at least in part on the operational data, and providing, by the software application via the mobile device, an indication of a recommendation to perform the one or more activities.

A method may include receiving, by a monitoring system from a software application configured to execute on a mobile device, a performance rating associated with an activity performed by an individual with respect to usage of a vehicle operated by the individual, determining, by the monitoring system, one or more rewards to allocate to the individual for use in a gaming platform, and updating, by the monitoring system, a user profile associated with the individual in the gaming platform, wherein the updated user profile is configured to access to the rewards.
