Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for signaling and scheduling to enable network configured small gaps in intra-band inter-frequency measurement. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a serving cell operating on a first frequency, an indication that synchronization signal block (SSB) indexes of a target cell operating on a second frequency can be derived from timing of the serving cell; and deriving an SSB index of the target cell, based on the timing of the serving cell.

Signaling and scheduling to enable network configured small gaps in intra-band inter-frequency measurement

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

Techniques for providing assistance information for reduced MIMO layers

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration for a plurality of cells. The UE may perform measurement of each of the plurality of cells in an order, wherein the order is based at least in part on a priority, wherein the priority is based at least in part on an aggregated downlink bandwidth. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, via a first subscription of the UE, a trigger event for a conditional handover of the UE from a source network entity to a target network entity. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the trigger event, that a target band associated with the target network entity is not compatible with a serving band associated with a second subscription of the UE. The UE may store the trigger event for the conditional handover in a buffer of the UE. Wireless communications systems and methods related to wireless communications in a system are provided. A user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of antenna configurations for a plurality of channel frequencies. The UE may determine a set of signal strengths for at least one beam received at one or more antenna configurations of the plurality of antenna configurations for at least one of the channel frequencies. The UE may select, based on the set of signal strengths, a first antenna configuration of the plurality of antenna configurations. After selection of the first antenna configuration, the UE may communicate with a base station, in one or more channel frequencies based on the first antenna configuration.

A configuration is disclosed to enable a UE to preempt SRVCC by triggering a handover to a Wi-Fi network. The apparatus determines whether a Wi-Fi cell is viable as a first target cell, from a plurality of target cells, serving the UE to continue the active transmission on the Wi-Fi cell. The apparatus extends a TTT timer length based at least in part on the determination that the Wi-Fi cell is viable as the target cell serving the UE to continue the active transmission on the Wi-Fi cell. The apparatus initiates a handover to the Wi-Fi cell from the first network prior to the expiration of a TTT timer and prior to the first network initiating a handover to a second target cell, from the plurality of target cells, on a second network.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for a user equipment for indicating resources having limited wireless wide area network (WWAN) transmission capability. In some examples, a user equipment indicates a sidelink transmission pattern to a WWAN, receives one or more uplink transmission grants for the WWAN based on at least the sidelink transmission pattern, and transmits at least one of first data to a second user equipment on a sidelink channel based on the sidelink transmission pattern or second data to the WWAN based on the one or more uplink transmission grants. In some examples, the user equipment transmits a sidelink transmission configuration to the WWAN, the sidelink transmission configuration including one or more sidelink transmission patterns. In some examples, the user equipment selects a sidelink transmission pattern from among the one or more sidelink transmission patterns based on expected sidelink transmissions.

Communication of sidelink transmission pattern to wireless wide area network (WWAN)

Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. For example, one method includes detecting a procedure and determining the procedure is a qualifying procedure. The method further includes detecting one or more handover events indicative of handover procedures, where the handover procedures interfere with the execution of the qualifying procedure. The method also includes comparing a radio frequency condition of the communication between a user equipment and a source access point with a threshold value based on the radio frequency condition and delaying handover procedures for a predefined time based on the comparison, wherein the delaying of the handover procedures occurs when the detected procedure is the qualifying procedure and when the radio frequency condition satisfies a threshold that is based on the threshold value.

Methods and apparatus for reducing handover signaling during wireless communication procedures

Methods, systems, and devices are described for transmitting scheduling requests for uplink transmission resources following a handover. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a handover from a first base station to a second base station has occurred, and may implement one or more processes to enhance efficiency in communications following the handover. A UE, for example, may wait for successful acquisition and/or derivation of timing information from a base station before attempting to schedule uplink resources with the base station.

Delaying a trigger of a scheduling request after handover

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a base station. A base station may identify a service type of a mobile device (e.g., voice, web-browsing, or video download). The base station may then determine handover or measurement parameters for the mobile device based on the service type. The base station may also determine a performance metric of the service type. The base station may then adjust the set of parameters based at least in part on the performance metric. In some cases, the base station may select a measurement configuration based on the adjusted parameters.

LTE handover parameter configuration for specific types of traffic

Methods, systems, and devices are described for call setup (e.g., VoLTE) for a wireless communication device. During a call setup procedure, the device may implement a 'keep alive' mechanism to maintain an RRC connection established as part of the call setup procedure. The 'keep alive' mechanism may be configured to insert some padding traffic (e.g., dummy packets) to maintain the RRC connection, for example, by restarting the network RRC connection release timer to prevent its expiration and release of the RRC connection during call setup.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for improved traffic management in wireless communications are disclosed. Aspects of the present disclosure provide real-time radio frequency (RF) assessments to a network by leveraging measurement reports from user equipment (UE). In some aspects, the network utilizes the real-time RF assessments based on the measurement reports to adjust one or more idle-mode parameters of the UE and assign priorities to a plurality of frequencies based on their respective coverage area and/or propagation characteristics. In one example, the priority assignments for two or more of the plurality of frequencies may be inversely proportional to their respective coverage areas, so as to push UEs with acceptable signal quality to frequencies with smaller coverage area, thereby releasing frequencies with greater coverage area for UEs that are near or at the edge of the effective range of the base station.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for data transmission using header compression techniques that may include dropping all of a portion of a payload for one or more Protocol Data Units (PDUs). A wireless communications device may determine that a robust header compression (RoHC) mode is in an initialization and refresh (IR) state, indicating a full Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU), including complete header information, is to be transmitted. The wireless communications device may identify that a payload of at least part of a media frame is to be transmitted in the IR state, and drop at least part of the payload when a probability of segmenting the payload during transmission in the IR state exceeds a threshold.
