A lever-type connector includes a mating housing having a cam boss, a housing fitted into and detached from the mating housing, a lever rotatably supported by the housing via a lever boss and rotating an operation unit to fit the both housings and a cable cover mounted to the rear of the housing and protecting a plurality of the cables pulled out from the rear of the housing. The lever has a temporary locking lock unit. The housing includes a temporary locking unit that temporarily locks the temporary locking lock unit, and a storage unit that stores the temporary locking lock unit in which the temporarily locked state with the temporary locking unit is released. The mating housing has a release unit that releases the temporarily locked state between the temporary locking lock unit and the temporary locking unit.

Lever-type connector

A lever-type connector includes a first housing having a cam boss and a second housing fitted and detached from the first housing. A lever is rotatably supported to the second housing via lever bosses, and both housings and are fitted by rotating an operating portion. A cable cover is attached to a rear portion of the second housing to protect a plurality of cables drawn from the rear portion of the second housing. The second housing has an assembling portion for assembling the cable cover, and boss holes for rotatably supporting the lever bosses.

Lever-type connector and method of assembling lever-type connector

A connector with cable cover includes a housing including a terminal accommodation chamber configured to accommodate a terminal connected to a cable and a rear surface configured to draw out the cable from the housing; and a cable cover formed in a tubular shape and attached to a side of the rear surface. A water drain passage is formed between a rear side on a side surface of the housing and a front side on an inner surface of the cable cover in a state where the cable cover is attached to the housing.

A cable cover for attached to a side of a rear surface of a housing of a connector and for covering a cable pulled out from the rear surface of the housing includes: a main body cover mounted on the side of the rear surface of the housing; a lid cover that is combined with the main body cover into a tubular shape and that covers the cable; and a hinge which couples the main body cover and the lid cover and in which a central portion is formed thinner than a root portion of the main body cover and a root portion of the lid cover.

Cable cover

In a connector with a wire cover, one of attachment portions provided in a main body cover is extended beyond a maximum diameter portion of a cover mounting portion in a direction perpendicular to an attachment direction in which the attachment portion is mounted on the cover mounting portion. The one of the attachment portions includes a provisional engagement portion provisionally engaged on the cover mounting portion, and configured to prevent the attachment portion from being detached from the cover mounting portion. The main body cover includes a rotation restricting portion configured to come in contact with a connector housing to prevent a rotation of the main body cover when a rotational force is applied to the main body cover in a circumferential direction of the cover mounting portion in a state where the provisional engagement portion is provisionally engaged with the cover mounting portion.

Either of first and second corrugated tubes having different groove (or ridge) pitches can be mounted on a connector. In this case, the distance between a first retaining projectionand a second retaining projectionis a common multiple of these pitches, and therefore either of the two different corrugated tubes can be properly retained on both of the first and second retaining projectionsand. This invention provides with a connector housing in which a retaining arm for fixing a metal terminal to be inserted into a receiving chamber is formed within the receiving chamber, and extends in a direction of insertion of the metal terminal, and the retaining arm has a convex retaining portion to be engaged with a predetermined retaining hole formed in the metal terminal, wherein the retaining portion has a first slanting surface formed at a central portion of the retaining portion in a direction perpendicular to the direction of insertion of the metal terminal, and a pair of second slanting surfaces formed respectively at opposite side portions to the central portion, the second slanting surfaces being gentler in inclination angle than the first slanting surface; and at an arbitrary position in the direction of extending of the retaining arm in a range in which the first slanting surface is disposed above a predetermined height, the second slanting surfaces are disposed lower than the first slanting surface.

Lever-fitting type connector

A lever fitting-type connector has a lock arm for retaining a lever, the lock arm being provided at a connector housing. The lever fitting-type connector includes, in addition to a first retaining cancellation structure for canceling a retained condition of the lever by the finger, a second retaining cancellation structure for canceling the retained condition by inserting a retaining cancellation jig in a direction intersecting a direction of pressing of the lock arm and then by operating the jig. The second retaining cancellation structure includes a jig guide serving as a lever fulcrum for the retaining cancellation jig.

Joint connector and its terminals

A connector includes a housing, a front holder, a provisionally-retaining member and a completely-retaining member. The housing includes terminal receiving chambers in which metal terminals are accommodated and a plurality of elastic retaining arm portions for respectively retaining the metal terminals. The front holder is attached to the housing in a completely-retaining position through a provisionally-retaining position. The front holder prevents elastic deformation of the elastic retaining arm portions in the completely-retaining position but allows elastic deformation of the elastic retaining arm portions in the provisionally-retaining position. The completely-retaining member retains the front holder to the housing in the completely-retaining position and includes an operation portion for releasing the retaining of the housing and the holder, which is exposed to the exterior.

Connector having an improved front holder design for retaining terminals

A pair of connector elements, one connector element having a locking arm, the other connector element having a hood for receiving the one connector element and a locking protrusion provided within the hood are locked in engagement by the locking arm and the locking protrusion when they are completely coupled with each other. When the connector elements are not used or before they are coupled with each other, a body for preventing the one connector element from being fit into the other connector element is inserted in the hood of the other connector element. The body has a locking arm to be engaged with the locking protrusion and a locking portion into which a dedicated jig for pulling out the body from the hood is to be inserted. Thus, in electric wiring (e.g., an air bag for motor vehicles), a connection of the connector elements is prevented with a false current is flowing through one of the connector elements, thus preventing error (e.g., an explosion in an inflator).

Method of connecting an electric connector with false connection

A pair of connector elements, one connector element having a locking arm, the other connector element having a hood for receiving the one connector element and a locking protrusion provided within the hood are locked in engagement of the locking arm with the locking protrusion when they are completely coupled with each other. When the connector elements are not used or before they are coupled with each other, a body for preventing the one connector element from being fit into the other connector element is inserted in the hood of the other connector element. The body has a locking arm to be engaged with the locking protrusion and a locking portion into which a dedicated jig for pulling out the body from the hood is to be inserted. Thus, in electrical wiring for e.g. an air bag for motor vehicles, it is prevented that when the pair of connector elements are to be coupled with each other, they are connected with a false current flowing through the one connector element and explosion happens in an inflator.

Electric connector with false connection preventing mechanism and method

A multi-input first connector for use with a mating connector wherein the first connector includes a connector housing; first, second, third, and fourth terminals disposed in the connector housing; a first connecting device for connecting the first terminal with the second terminal; a second connecting device for connecting the third terminal with the fourth terminal; and a connect-and-disconnect device. The connect-and-disconnect device connects a first terminal group with a second terminal group in a first state in which the mating connector is uncoupled from the first connector, and for disconnecting the first terminal group from the second terminal group in a second state in which the first connector is coupled together with the mating connector. An intrusive insulating portion of the mating connector disconnects the terminal groups by electrically separating them in the coupled state. The first terminal group includes a plurality of terminals including at least the first and second terminals, and the second terminal group includes a plurality of terminals including at least the third and fourth terminals.

Multi-input connector

A lever fitting-type connector includes a lever returning spring having a connector-side engagement lever and a lever-side engagement lever which extend from a coil portion, a connector housing including a shaft portion and one spring end engagement portion which are formed on an outer wall surface thereof, and the one spring end engagement portion engaged with the connector-side engagement lever; and a U-shaped lever having an engagement hole for the shaft portion and the other spring end engagement portion which is engaged with the lever side coil portion.
