A controller reduces an output of the drive motor when a window glass reaches a speed shift position, which is between a fully open position and a fully closed position of the window glass, in a closing operation of the window glass. The controller increases the output of the drive motor based on a position signal, which indicates that the position of the closing member in the closing operation is in a preclosed position located on a fully closed position side of the speed shift position. The preclosed position is located in a pinch-monitoring disabled zone, in which the monitoring of the pinching of the object through the controller is disabled.

Closing member control system

A controller writes position information (count value) of the window glass into an EEPROM based on halting of operation of a drive motor and identifies the current position of the window glass based on the position information of the window glass written in the EEPROM at the start of power supply. The controller determines whether the current position of the window glass has been lost or not at the start of power supply. Only when the controller determines that the current position of the window glass has been lost at the start of power supply, the controller shifts to a mode of performing relearning of the origin position for matching the position of the window glass with the position of the window glass corresponding to the position information written into the EEPROM.

Control apparatus for open/close member and method for controlling open/close member

A control apparatus for a movable vehicle roof panel determines the position of the panel in a tilt open state and evaluates whether the panel is in normal tilt-open range of positions or has, via inertia, traveled beyond those normal positions. The control apparatus allows movement to the closed position if movement beyond a permissible range has been achieved through roof panel inertia.

Controller for a moving member and method for setting a reference position of the moving member

A control apparatus rotates a drive motor reversely to reverse the moving direction of a roof glass when movement of the roof glass is obstructed by a foreign matter caught between the roof glass and a frame while the roof glass is moving toward the closing position, sets a home position of the roof glass by setting the count number to a predetermined value with the roof glass placed in a predetermined position. The control apparatus performs setting of the home position again when a reverse action of the roof glass has been carried out, because of catching of the foreign matter in the roof glass, a number of times equal to or greater than a specified number. An abnormality detecting device detects an abnormality in which the reverse action of the roof glass is not carried out within a specified time period. When the abnormality is detected, the control apparatus avoids setting the home position again.

Controller for a moving member including an abnormality detecting device

In an automotive power window system, a controller detects positions of a window glass that moves through driving operation of a motor during the closing operation of a window. The controller reduces a rotation speed of the motor when the window glass reaches a speed altering position. It calculates the amount of reduction in the rotation speed produced by the rotation speed reducing operation. Then, it corrects a rotation speed obtained during the closing operation by compensating for the amount of reduction. It determines whether an obstruction for the closing operation is present based on the corrected rotation speed. If the obstruction is detected, it controls the motor for releasing the obstruction.

Open-and-close control system for openable apparatus

A control unit stores a count value, which is used to detect an operational position of a roof glass, in a RAM. The control unit determines whether the count value is properly stored in the RAM when a voltage of a power supply falls below a predetermined voltage and thereafter returns to the predetermined voltage. Even in a case where the control unit determines that the count value is properly stored in the RAM, the control unit determines there is a possibility of having a deviation between an actual operational position of the roof glass and the count value. Thereafter, the control unit resets a reference point of the roof glass.

Closure member control device and method for limiting positional deviation of closure member

A sunroof apparatus comprises a drive motor which actuates a roof glass and a control section. The control section rotates the drive motor reversely when the movement of the sunroof is obstructed by a caught foreign matter. When a drive voltage to be supplied to the drive motor becomes lower than a reference voltage, the control section determines that the drive voltage is abnormal and stops supplying the drive voltage to the drive motor to inhibit the drive motor from being operated. A first reference voltage is used as the reference voltage at the time the drive motor is stopped, and a second reference voltage lower than the first reference voltage is used as the reference voltage at the time the drive motor is operated. It is therefore possible to detect a foreign matter being caught before an abnormality of the drive voltage is determined.

Apparatus and method for controlling moving member

In a motor drive apparatus for an ultrasonic motor, a microcomputer checks whether a starter is driven within a predetermined time period from a detection of motor lock, when the motor lock is detected before the detection of a decrease in a battery voltage. The starter drive is stored in its internal memory. The microcomputer checks whether the starter was driven within the predetermined time period, when the battery voltage is restored and the starter drive is completed. The microcomputer drives the ultrasonic motor again if the check result indicates that the starter motor was driven.
