Disclosed is a method for repairing a damaged area of a silicone hard-coat layer on an automotive resin glazing substrate by applying an intermediate coating composition (I) to the damaged area and applying a topcoat coating composition (II) to the intermediate coating composition. The intermediate coating composition (I) contains (A) a reactive siloxane compound and (B) silica. The topcoat coating composition (II) contains (C) an alkoxysilane having a UV-absorbing functional group, (D) a multifunctional alkoxysilane, (E) a reactive siloxane compound, (F) colloidal silica, and (G) phosphoric acid. The method forms a coating having the same appearance and physical properties as the underlying silicone hard-coat layer.

Refinish coating system and repairing method for automotive resin glazing

A coating composition is provided which contains (A) a co-hydrolytic condensate of a UV-absorbing alkoxysilane, a UV-curable alkoxysilane, and a tetraalkoxysilane, (B) a polyfunctional poly(meth)acrylate, and (C) a photobleachable photopolymerization initiator. Upon exposure to UV, the composition cures briefly at low temperature to form a cured film having durability, adhesion and transparency.

A perfluoropolyether rubber composition is useful for forming a polymer electrolyte membrane, comprising (A) an alkenyl-containing perfluoropolyether, (B) a silicon-oxygen crosslinked structure having ionic conduction, and (C) a peroxide crosslinker. The silicon-oxygen crosslinked structure is obtained by simultaneously effecting oxidation and hydrolysis on an organoxysilane having an epoxy group and an organoxysilane having a mercapto group for thereby converting the mercapto group into a sulfonic group, and neutralizing the resulting sulfonic group-containing siloxane with a nitrogen-containing compound.

The primer composition assists in establishing a high bond strength between metal and silicone rubber by the mechanism that the triazinethiol moieties form strong chemical bonds with a difficult-to-bond metal such as gold, silver or copper, and the alkenyl moieties are involved in silicone rubber vulcanization.

A conductive adhesive composition is obtained by mixing a binder resin with 30-98 wt % based on the adhesive composition of a silver powder as a conductive agent. The silver powder contains a silver powder consisting of flat primary particles and having a massive agglomerate structure and a tap density of 0.1-1.5 g/cmin an amount of 30-98 wt % based on the adhesive composition. The conductive adhesive composition cures into a product having improved conductivity, adhesion, heat resistance, moisture resistance, ease of working and heat transfer.

Conductive adhesive composition

A conductive powder is incorporated in a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising a silicone gum, an MQ resin, and a crosslinking agent. The conductive powder consists of core particles of inorganic material or organic resin, an interlayer of silicon-base polymer, and a metal plating. The resulting conductive silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is satisfactorily adherent to silicone rubber and cures into a product that exhibits stable conductivity and adhesive properties in the temperature region where silicone rubber is used.

Electroconductive silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composition

A conductive composition is obtained by dispersing conductive particles in a curable polymer. At least 50% by weight of the entire conductive particles are those conductive particles coated with a metal on their outermost layer surface and having a specific gravity which differs within &plusmn;1.5 from the specific gravity of the curable polymer. The composition remains stable during storage, experiences a minimal change with time of curability, and cures into a conductive rubber which experiences a minimal change with time of volume resistivity.

A conductive powder having an organic silicon polymer layer on the surface of each particle and a metal layer enclosing the silicon polymer layer possesses a stronger bond between the particle base and the metal even at elevated temperature and exhibits a high and stable conductivity and heat resistance.

A method for forming a metal pattern by the micro-stamping process involves the steps of treating a substrate bearing a thin film of a reducing silicon polymer with a solution containing a salt of a metal having a standard oxidation-reduction potential of at least 0.54 volt, allowing metal colloid to deposit on the substrate surface, stamping a pattern of an alkane thiol to the substrate surface for transferring the pattern to the metal colloid-bearing silicon polymer thin film, and effecting electroless metal plating for forming a metal pattern only on the region of the silicon polymer thin film which is not covered with the alkane thiol pattern. The finely defined metal pattern can be formed on any type of substrate though inexpensive simple steps and has good adhesion to the substrate.

An electrically conductive liquid silicone rubber composition having (A) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of 10-100,000 centipoise at 25&deg; C., (B) 1-100 parts by weight of a finely divided silica powder, (C) 30-700 parts by weight of a metal powder or an electrically conductive metal-plated powder, and (D) a curing agent in an amount sufficient to cure the organopolysiloxane. The composition has a low volumetric resistivity, a stable electrical resistance and can be injection-molded and cured to give an outstanding silicone rubber that is useful in electrical components and electrical contacts employed in high-conductivity applications.

Electrically conductive liquid silicone rubber composition

In a silicone rubber composition comprising an organopolysiloxane having at least two aliphatic unsaturated groups and a curing agent, metallized particles of inorganic material or organic resin are effectively dispersed to give a conductive composition which cures into a conductive silicone rubber part having a low and stable volume resistivity.
