An imaging apparatus includes: an image sensor that captures a subject image formed to generate image data; a recorder that records first image data showing images sequentially captured by the image sensor at a shooting period; and a controller operates the image sensor with a frame period shorter than half period of the shooting period, to generate one or plural frames of second image data by capturing in another frame period than the frame period for capturing the first image data within the shooting period. The second image data shows an image used for control in the imaging apparatus, captured with a setting different from a setting for the first image data. The control is performed based on a plurality of frames of image data including the one or plural frames of second image data, the plurality of frames being obtained by multiple times of capturing in the shooting period.

An imaging device includes an image sensor configured to capture a subject image at a predetermined frame rate and generate imaging data for each frame; and a controller configured to control a display to display a captured image corresponding to the imaging data for each frame, wherein first follow-up information can be displayed on the captured image in the display with a frame delay to indicate a result of a first follow-up operation of following a subject on the captured image, and the controller generates second follow-up information that is displayed in a delay period shorter than the frame delay of the first follow-up information to indicate a result of a second follow-up operation different from the first follow-up operation.

An imaging apparatus includes: an image sensor capturing an image of a subject via an optical system including a focus lens, and generating image data; a distance measuring part calculating a subject distance and a movement distance of the subject by using the generated image data; and a controller that performs an auto-focus action by using the calculated subject distance or movement distance. The distance measuring part uses: first image data when the subject lies at the first position; second image data when the subject lies at the second position; and a PSF of the optical system corresponding to a focused position of the subject lying at the first position, thereby finding a distance between the first position and the second position, and calculating the subject distance and the movement distance of the subject for an image indicated by the second image data based on the found distance.

Imaging apparatus

An image-capturing apparatus of the present disclosure includes a focus lens, an image sensor that captures an object image formed via the focus lens and generates image data, and an image processor that calculates a value relating to an in-focus position in a state of setting resolution of an object distance according to a first moving amount of the focus lens based on (i) first image data generated by the image sensor when the focus lens is at a first position and (ii) second image data generated by the image sensor when the focus lens is moved from the first position by a first moving amount and located at a second position.

The present disclosure provides an image-capturing apparatus for determining an object distance with higher accuracy. An image-capturing apparatus includes an optical system that forms an object image of an object, the optical system including a focus lens, an image sensor that captures the object image formed via the optical system and generates image data, and a controller that determines an object distance according to information representing a state of the optical system based on (i) first image data generated when the focus lens is at a first focus lens position and (ii) second image data generated when the focus lens is at a second focus lens position.

The imaging apparatus of the present disclosure comprises the following structural elements: an optical system including at least one lens; an imaging element configured to form an object image with light collected by the optical system, and produce first image data; and an image processing section configured to calculate a distance to an object for the image, and produce second image data by providing the first image data with image processing. The image processing section sets a depth of field based on the calculated distance to the object, and carries out the image processing by applying the depth of field.

An image-capturing apparatus of the present disclosure includes a focus lens, an image sensor that captures an object image formed via the focus lens and generates image data, and a controller that calculates a value relating to an in-focus position based on (i) first image data generated by the image sensor when the focus lens is at a first position and (ii) second image data generated by the image sensor when the focus lens is moved from the first position by a first moving amount and located at a second position, and the controller changing a next moving amount of the focus lens from the first moving amount based on the calculated value relating to the in-focus position.

An image-capturing apparatus includes a focus lens that forms an object image of the object, an image sensor that produces image data by capturing the object image, and a controller that controls the focus lens. The focus lens has a focal position. The controller is operable to detect a change of a distance from the image-capturing apparatus to the object during a first exposure period based on image data produced by capturing the object image with the image sensor during the first exposure period. The controller is operable to determine, based on the detected change in the distance, a control amount which controls a moving velocity at which the focal position moves during a second exposure period after the first exposure period. The controller is operable to move the focal position at a moving velocity corresponding to the determined control amount, and cause the image sensor to capture the object image during the second exposure period.

A 3D image capture device includes: a first image capturing section including a first optical system and a first image sensor that outputs a first signal to generate a first image; a second image capturing section including a second optical system that has parallax with respect to the first optical system and a second image sensor that outputs a second signal to generate a second image that has parallax with respect to the first image; a point of convergence adjusting section configured to adjust the position of the point of convergence; a working range setting section configured to set working ranges for the image stabilization working according to the position of the point of convergence; and an image stabilizing section configured to cancel the camera shake within the set working ranges.

An image-capturing apparatus is configured to capture an image of an object, an object. The controller determines a tracking range based on a position of a particular object. The controller causes the focus lens to focus on a certain object when the certain object is located in the tracking range. The controller updates the tracking range in response to the position of the particular object if determining that the position of the particular object changes. An imaging apparatus and a detecting apparatus are provided. The imaging apparatus includes the following elements: an imaging part for imaging the light condensed by an optical system and for generating image data; a first sensor for detecting a first angular velocity, i.e. an angular velocity around a first axis, which is substantially parallel to the optical axis of the optical system; a second sensor for detecting a second angular velocity, i.e. an angular velocity around a second axis, which is substantially perpendicular to a horizontal plane when the apparatus is placed on the horizontal plane; a third sensor for detecting an angle of rotation around a third axis, which is substantially perpendicular to the plane formed by the first axis and the second axis; and a processor for processing information about the first angular velocity, based on information about the second angular velocity and information about the angle.
