In a system for driving an electric motor by an engine generator, there is a possibility that oscillation and d-axis current are increased. In an engine generator system, a power converter () controls a generator () so that the phase of an oscillating component included in the d-axis current in the rotor magnetic flux direction of the generator () advances by 90 degrees or more with respect to the phase of an oscillating component of the identical frequency included in the rotating electric angular frequency of the generator (), and further using q-axis voltage adjusting device () so that the phase of an oscillating component included in the q-axis current advances by 90 degrees or more with respect to the phase of an oscillating component of the identical frequency included in the rotating electric angular frequency of the generator ().

Power conversion device

Provided is a high mobility railroad vehicle system configured to reciprocally carry out a direct drive between a non-electrically driven section and an electrically driven section without installing new facilities such as oil supply equipment and without considering distinction between the non-electrically and electrically driven sections. A railroad vehicle system is provided with an overall control apparatus to respectively control an external electric power supply means, an internal electric power supply means, an electricity storage means, electric power conversion means and a motor driving means. The railroad vehicle system judges or previously notifies as to whether the present driving railroad section is the electrically driven section or non-electrically driven section in accordance with driving position information received from a position information generation means such as a ground facility on a railroad equipped outside of the vehicle and a global positioning system (GPS). The system cuts off from an external electric power source in the non-electrically driven section and carries out a smooth shifting control in order to connect to the external electric power source in the electrically driven section.

A control device for a railway vehicle controls an inverter device based on a direct-current link voltage Vfc between the opposite terminals of a filter capacitor. A direct-current voltage applied to the inverter device during regeneration is the sum of a voltage Vb of power storage equipment and an overhead wire voltage Vs, so that only detecting the direct-current link voltage Vfc is not enough to separate the voltage Vb of the power storage equipment and the overhead wire voltage Vs from each other. The power storage equipment can be connected in series with the inverter device, and a voltage sensor that detects the overhead wire voltage Vs is provided between a current collector device and a grounding point. The power storage equipment is controlled based on the detection result from the voltage sensor.

In order to minimize a calculation load and surely obtain a maximum adhesion torque, estimated adhesion torques are always stored, an maximum value is obtained from the stored plural estimated adhesion torques immediately before slip/skid is detected when detecting the slip/skid, and the maximum value is set as a maximum adhesion torque. The maximum adhesion torque immediately before the slip/skid is detected is compared with a value of the estimated adhesion torque when the slip/skid is detected. When the calculated value exceeds a threshold value, it is determined as a condition where an adhesion coefficient drastically drops, and a suppression/return ratio of the torque is switched to a lower value than that under a condition where the adhesion coefficient does not drastically drop. The value of the torque at the time of suppression or return is set to a smaller value to surely suppress the slip/skid.

Control device for electric rolling stock

In a drive device for a railway vehicle, in which regeneration braking force is increased by adding the output voltage of a voltage adjustment device to a DC power source voltage, operation of the current control device is started prior to the start of the power running operation or the regeneration operation of the inverter device, and the operation of the current control device is stopped later than the stopping of the power running operation or the regeneration operation of the inverter device. Thereby, the current control device is surely operated at least during the operation period of the inverter device, so that the output voltage of the voltage adjustment device is adjusted by the current control device, to thereby prevent the over-discharge of the energy storage device at the time of power running operation or the overcharge of the energy storage device at the time of regeneration operation.

A power control apparatus for controlling charging and discharging of a plurality of storage devices, including a voltage measuring device for measuring voltages of the storage devices, a current measuring device for measuring currents flowing through the storage devices, a status detecting device for detecting the operating status of each of the storage devices from values measured by the voltage measuring device and the current measuring device, and a charging/discharging controlling device for controlling currents, voltages, or power according to the operating status of each storage device detected by the status detecting device to charge or discharge the storage devices.

Power control unit

The invention provides a control apparatus of a power conversion system for driving an induction motor via a VVVF inverter, wherein the AC voltage generated by the inverter is increased so as to expand the high-speed side property of the induction motor, to thereby improve the performance during power running and regenerative braking. In the present system, a DC power supply source having a power storage system with a capacity capable of processing the current flowing into or out of the inverter is inserted in series to the ground side of the input of the inverter, and the output voltage thereof is controlled from zero in a continuous manner to be added to the trolley voltage, which is then applied to the inverter.

The invention provides a battery module including an output breaker that ensures safe and prompt installation of batteries in a system. The battery module includes one or more batteries and a case housing the batteries and having output terminals, each output terminal being connected to a positive or negative electrode of the housed battery, the battery module further including means for turning on and off the connection between the output terminal and the positive or negative electrode of the battery. The means for turning on and off the connection may include a contact subjected to making and breaking operations and a screw for making and breaking the contact, the screw having an insulator at an interface with the contact.

A tracked vehicle has a power control apparatus for controlling charging and discharging of a plurality of storage devices. A voltage measuring device measures voltages of the respective storage devices, and a current measuring device measures currents flowing through the respective storage devices. A status detecting device detects the operating status of each storage device based on values measured by the voltage and current measuring devices; and a charging/discharging controlling device controls currents, voltages, or power according to the operating status of each storage device detected by the status detecting device, to charge or discharge the storage devices.

A control apparatus for an electric railcar that provides control so that when rotational speed of a motor decreases below a required value, torque of the motor will decrease at a required rate of change, a current limiter for limiting a torque current command '(A)Iqp' output from a current command arithmetic unit is provided to ensure that when the rotational speed of the motor decreases below the required value, the torque current command will be limited to a command value '(B)Iqp' smaller than that command value, and to ensure that a carrier frequency at which PWM signals are created when switching elements of the electric power converter are controlled by carrier generator is controlled to become lower than a carrier frequency existing when the rotational speed of the motor decreases below the required value.

A power control apparatus for controlling charging and discharging of a plurality of storage means devices has a voltage measuring arrangement for measuring voltages of each of the storage devices, a current measuring arrangement for measuring currents flowing through each of the storage devices, a status detector for detecting the operating status of each storage device from values measured by the voltage and current measuring arrangements, and a charging/discharging control device for controlling currents, voltages, or power according to the operating status of each storage devices detected by the status detector to charge or discharge the storage devices.

To determine the timing of the electrical brake for completely stopping in electrical braking control, and also to achieve both sure stopping and good riding comfort in an electric vehicle powered by the motor by decreasing the braking force at a prescribed rate of change, the torque of the electric motor is controlled by controlling the power converter which powers the motor using a power converter controller. The deceleration of the motor is computed based on the detected speed of the electric motor which is as an output of the speed detection means, the subsequent speed of the electric motor is estimated based on the detected speed and the deceleration rate of the electric motor at the time the detected rotational speed of the electric motor falls below a prescribed speed, and torque control is carried out using an electric power converter controller, based on the estimated speed.
