The present invention aims to provide an ink for ink jet recording that is excellent in storage stability and discharge stability and attains high coloration on regular paper or gloss paper and high glossiness on gloss paper. The ink for ink jet recording of the invention includes: water; and a pigment dispersed by using a polymer which is obtained by polymerizing at least 50% by weight or more of benzylacrylate and 15% by weight or less of (meth)acrylic acid as components of the polymer and has an acid value of no less than 50 mgKOH/g and no more than 120 mgKOH/g and a weight average molecular weight of no less than 10000 and no more than 120000.

Inkjet recording ink

An ink composition contains a particular anthrapyridone dye and a particular copper phthalocyanine dye. The hue angle in the L*a*b* color system calculated from spectral characteristics of a 1,000-fold diluted solution of the ink composition in water is 270&#xb0; to 360&#xb0;. The content of the anthrapyridone dye is higher than the content of the copper phthalocyanine dye.

Ink composition

An ink for inkjet recording of the invention includes water and a pigment, where the pigment is dispersed using a polymer having a refractive index of at least 1.58 or more, an acid value of 50 mgKOH/g to 120 mgKOH/g, and a weight average molecular weight of 20000 to 120000. It is preferable that the polymer is prepared by using a (meta)acrylate and/or a sulfur-containing (meth)acrylate which have at least a plurality of aromatic rings.

Ink for inkjet recording

The present invention provides an aqueous ink containing a dispersion in which a colorant is encapsulated with a polymer to make it dispersible in water, wherein the polymer has aromatic rings in an amount of from 20% by weight to 70% by weight based on the weight of the polymer, and further, the ink contains a compound represented by the following formula: wherein R represents a bivalent organic group, PO represents a propyleneoxy group, EO represents an ethyleneoxy group, x, y, a and b are each the number of repeating units, x represents a number of 1 to 200, y represents a number of 1 to 50, a represents a number of 1 to 30, and b represents a number of 0 to 20.

Aqueous ink

This invention provides an water-base ink achieving high print quality on plain, recycled, and coated paper, glossiness on glossy paper, as well as well-balanced gas fastness, and an water-base ink set which exhibits low light source dependence with regard to the colors of resultant printed matter. This invention is an water-base ink comprising a pigment, a surfactant and/or a penetrating organic solvent, and water, wherein the pigment is a copper phthalocyanine pigment substituted with eight or less chlorine atoms; the surfactant is an acetylene glycol surfactant and/or an acetylene alcohol type surfactant; and the penetrating organic solvent is one or more selected from the group consisting of di(tri)ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and/or (di)propylene glycol monobutyl ether, and 1,2-allylene glycol. This invention is also an water-base ink set comprising the water-base ink, a magenta ink and a yellow ink.
