A according to one embodiment, an optical measurement system has an optical waveguide sensor chip mounted thereon, the optical waveguide sensor chip has a space defined by a plurality of surfaces including a first surface along which an optical waveguide part is provided. The optical measurement system includes a holding surface, a light transceiver, and a contact sensor. The holding surface holds the bottom surface of the optical waveguide sensor chip. The light transceiver lets light be incident on the optical waveguide sensor chip through a first window in the holding surface, and receives light that has passed through the first surface via the optical waveguide part from a second window in the holding surface. The contact sensor detects contact state in two or more detection positions located along an array direction of the first window and the second window.

Optical measurement system

According to one embodiment, a sample analyzer includes a detector, a first generator and a second generator. The detector detects a target substance bonded to a magnetic particle collected to a sensing area in the cartridge. The first generator applies a magnetic field for releasing the magnetic particles from the sensing area. The second generator includes a permanent magnet configured to generate a magnetic field for attracting the magnetic particles to the sensing area, a first soft magnetic material, and a second magnetic material. The second generator switches application and shut-off of a magnetic field by moving the permanent magnet relative to the first soft magnetic material and the second soft magnetic material.

Sample analyzer

A sample liquid preparing apparatus includes a first cylinder portion, a cap portion, and a liquid preparation vessel. The first cylinder portion has a first to-be-fixed portion and a second to-be-fixed portion. The first cylinder portion accommodates a first plug and a second plug. A liquid is sealed between these plugs. The cap portion includes a plunger portion to push the second plug and a first fixing portion to limit the plunger portion from pushing the second plug by fixing the first to-be-fixed portion. The liquid preparation vessel includes a second cylinder portion whose internal space is pressed by the first cylinder portion and a second fixing portion to limit the first cylinder portion from pushing by fixing the second to-be-fixed portion.

Radiotherapy support apparatus

A detector having a collimator in a position at a specific angle with respect to a therapeutic X-ray beam is mounted to selectively detect only scattering radiation in the direction. To three-dimensionally obtain a distribution of places where scattering occurs in a patient body, a detector is rotated during irradiation and scattering radiation is measured from all of directions. After that, a reconstructing process is performed, and a distribution of occurrence of scattering radiation in the subject is three-dimensionally imaged. Since angles and amounts of X-rays scattered by Compton scattering are known theoretically, if scattering radiation at a certain angle can be detected, the number of scattering radiation at other angles can be also estimated. On the basis of the theory, images of distribution of scattering radiation sources are converted to images of distribution of absorption of radiation.

Disclosed is an RF magnetic shield for magnetic resonance imaging apparatus having a gradient coil and an RF coil allocated in a generally cylindrical magnet of the apparatus. The RF magnetic shield comprises conductive shielding plate members, disposed between the gradient coil and the RF coil, through which long slits are formed, and capacitors connected to both the longitudinal ends of the slits, respectively. Each of the capacitors consists of a multilayer capacitor, which is a larger capacitance and is continuously and electrically connected to both the longitudinal ends of the respective slits.

A switch is mounted in a housing of a high-intensity static magnetic field generator and the housing includes a rotation shaft supported on the housing, a coil mounted relative to rotation shaft, an arm energized by the coil, arm energized by that arm, a rod energized by the arm, a latching/snapping element energized by the rod, a rod moved by the element and a movable electrode plate energized by the rod and movable into and out of engagement with a fixed electrode plate and holding their engaged and disengaged states. Almost every member of the switch is made of non-magnetic material, such as plastics and copper. Upon driving the coil under a mutual electromagnetic atmosphere resulting from electric current in the coil and high magnetic field Bo of the high-intensity static magnetic field generator, the element can open and close an associated electric circuit, while performing a latching/snapping operation, which is included in the high-intensity static magnetic field generator connected to the fixed electrode plate. It is also possible to hold the opened and closed states.

A probehead of an MR apparatus according to this invention includes transmitting and receiving coil elements for transmitting an RF field and receiving an MR signal based on an MR phenomenon induced in an object to be examined, respectively, and switching units for controlling decoupling of the transmitting and receiving coil elements. At least the switching unit provided for the transmitting coil element includes a plurality of PIN diodes connected in parallel with each other, and reactance elements connected in series with the plurality of PIN diodes and having reactance components, absolute values of which are sufficiently larger than resistance components of the PIN diodes in an on-state.

An automatic impedance adjuster for an MRI system has an impedance adjusting section, an oscillator, a detector, and a controller. The impedance adjusting section is provided to a probe head, and allows variable adjustment of real and imaginary parts of an impedance of the probe head. The oscillator has a predetermined output impedance, and supplies a signal to the probe head. The detector is connected between the probe head and the oscillator, and outputs detection signals respectively corresponding to real and imaginary parts of the impedance of the probe head. The controller supplies a control signal to the impedance adjusting section in response to the signals corresponding to the real and imaginary parts obtained from the detector, and performs control such that the real and imaginary parts of the impedance of the probe head coincide with a predetermined impedance. The controller executes processing including an initial routine for adjusting the impedance of the probe head to be a value for setting the signal corresponding to the imaginary part to be zero and a matching routine for controlling the impedance of the probe head by using the value set in the initial routine as an initial value, and adjusting the impedance so as to set both the signals respectively corresponding to the real and imaginary parts to be zero.

Automatic impedance adjuster for MRI system

A probe coil system for a magnetic resonance (MR) apparatus includes a plurality of coil elements, a plurality of shortening capacitor elements, and first and second capacitors. The plurality of shortening capacitor elements are inserted between and in series with the coil elements. The first capacitor is connected in parallel with the coil elements and the shortening capacitor elements. The second capacitors are connected at least in series with the coil elements and the shortening capacitor elements. Each of the shortening capacitor elements includes a plurality of capacitors and a plurality of switches, selectively opened and closed to switch a total capacitance of the plurality of capacitors, allowing selection of one of a plurality of resonance frequencies by adjusting the first and second capacitors within a predetermined range.
