An internal combustion engine includes a port injection valve, a direct injection valve, and a forced-induction device. A ratio of an amount of fuel injected from the port injection valve with respect to a total amount of fuel supplied for one fuel combustion in the cylinder is defined as a port injection ratio. The internal combustion engine is controlled such that, in a case in which a condition is satisfied that the forced-induction device is in an operation of performing forced induction and the internal combustion engine is in an engine operation region in which a valve overlap period is greater than zero, the port injection ratio is set to be small and a start timing of fuel injection from the port injection valve is delayed as compared with a case in which the condition is not satisfied.

Controller and control method for internal combustion engine

A control apparatus of an internal combustion engine is provided. The internal combustion engine includes a port injection valve that injects fuel into an intake-air port, and a cylinder injection valve that injects fuel into a cylinder. The control apparatus includes an electronic control unit that controls the port injection valve and the cylinder injection valve such that when returning from a fuel cut, a value of a port increase amount correction, which is a fuel increase amount correction in which a fuel amount is decreased with a lapse of time during a port injection, differs from a value of a cylinder increase amount correction, which is a fuel increase amount correction in which a fuel amount is decreased with a lapse of time during a cylinder injection.

Control apparatus of internal combustion engine

A controller includes a P/L learning unit that performs P/L learning, a purge learning unit that performs purge learning, an air-fuel ratio learning unit that performs air-fuel ratio learning, and a storage unit that stores learning result. When the learning result of each learning process is not stored in the storage unit at the time of engine start, the P/L learning unit learns an injection characteristic of an in-cylinder injection valve through the P/L learning process whenever the in-cylinder injection valve performs the P/L injection and interrupts the P/L learning process before the P/L learning process is completed. The purge learning unit performs the purge learning process, and the air-fuel ratio learning unit starts the air-fuel ratio learning process provided that the P/L learning process is interrupted. The P/L learning unit then resumes the P/L learning process provided that the purge learning process is completed.

A fuel injection control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a low pressure fuel pump, a low pressure fuel passage, a high pressure fuel pump, a high pressure fuel passage, a fuel injection valve, a high pressure controller, and a low pressure controller. The low pressure controller calculates a feedforward correction amount that increases as a request injection amount of the fuel injection valve increases and an increase rate of the high pressure target value increases when a high pressure target value increases. The low pressure controller calculates a feedback correction amount based on a low-side pressure deviation when the high pressure target value increases. The low pressure controller controls driving of the low pressure fuel pump based on a sum of the feedforward correction amount and the feedback correction amount.
