According to some embodiments, there is provided a method of producing a patterned artificial marble slab (). The method includes adhering one or more patterned substances () to a surface of the artificial marble slab, processing said artificial marble slab and removing said one or more patterned substances from the surface of the artificial marble slab, thereby obtaining an elevated or recessed pattern () on the surface of the artificial marble, wherein the elevated or recessed pattern has essentially the form of the patterned substances.
