The embodiments of the invention relate to recycled rubber masterbatch which exhibits a sufficient level of green strength and tack. The devulcanization of thermoset rubber is provided by reactive mixing of pulverized rubber, thermoplastic matrix, main-chain backbone antidegradant and green strength enhancer in the presence of a devulcanizing promoter. The embodiments of the invention also provide a thermoplastic dynamically post-vulcanized rubber which comprises at least one devulcanized rubber masterbatch and a polymer, wherein the rubber component is dispersed as a domain in a continuous resin phase and is selectively crosslinked during melt mixing with a molten thermoplastic.

Method for producing recycled thermoplastic rubber masterbatch with improved green strength and tack

A method is provided for preparing a reprocessed rubber from thermoset rubber particles. The method includes providing a plurality of thermoset rubber particles, inducing dynamic swelling and dynamic compatibilization of the plurality of rubber particles, admixing at least one de-linking agent with the swelled and wetted rubber particles, and wherein the step of admixing the at least one de-linking agent is carried out under thermo-mechanical mixing.

Re-processed rubber and a method for producing same

An olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises ground tire rubber (GTR) sub-divided into crumbs; at least one polyolefin; at least one styrene block copolymer; at least one &#x3b1;-olefin-vinyl ester copolymer; at least one sulfur scavenger; at least one blocking agent; at least one disproportioning agent; at least one free-radical donor acceptor; and at least one deflocculant. The product produced from the olefinic thermoplastic clastomer composition comprises a continuous matrix wherein the sub-divided GTR crumbs are homogeneously dispersed within the polyolefin matrix and wherein the sub-divided GTR crumbs have a shell and core structure.

Olefinic Thermoplastic Elastomer composition and process for producing the same

There is provided herein a dryer polymer substance adapted to pervaporate a fluid (such as water, water vapor or both), the polymer substance includes: a porous support member having a plurality of pores, wherein at least a portion of the pores are filled with a cross-linked co-polymer comprising (i) a cationic monomer and an anionic monomer, (ii) a zwitterionic monomer, or a combination thereof. The substance may include a membrane or a tube. There is further provided herein a process for the preparation of a dryer polymer substance adapted to pervaporate a fluid (such as water, water vapor or both), the process includes impregnating into at least a portion of the pores of a porous support member a solution which comprises: (i) a cationic monomer and an anionic monomer, (ii) a zwitterionic monomer, or a combination of (i) and (ii), graft co-polymerizing the anionic monomer and the cationic monomer and/or the zwitterionic monomer within at least a portion of the pores to form a co-polymer, and cross-linking the co-polymer, such that the pores of the support member are at least partially grafted with a cross-linked co-polymer bound to the support member.

Drying substances, preparation and use thereof

The invention provides a process for dynamic vulcanization comprising grafting organic silane on disperse phase component, thereby introducing chains into the component which are cross-linkable in the presence of cross-linking agents when the component is molten. The invention further provides thermoplastic vulcanizates having superior properties, including high flexibility and impact resistance, low hygroscopicity, non-toxicity, and excellent processability.
