A system for maintaining a desired pressure difference between a first pressure within a chamber and a reference pressure at a reference space. The system may include a peristaltic pump located along a duct that connects the chamber with the reference space. The system may further include a pressure sensor for monitoring an actual pressure difference between the first pressure within the chamber and the reference pressure at the reference space. The system may also include a controller for receiving a signal from the pressure sensor for determining the actual pressure difference from the pressure sensor and for operating the peristaltic pump, in accordance with the actual pressure difference and the desired pressure difference, to increase, decrease or leave unchanged the pressure within the chamber so as to maintain the actual pressure difference within predetermined proximity to the desired pressure difference.

Apparatus and method for pressure regulation

A system and methods for solid freeform fabrication of an object is disclosed. The system comprises a solid freeform fabrication apparatus having a plurality of dispensing heads, a building material supply apparatus configured to supply a plurality of building materials to the fabrication apparatus, and a control unit configured for controlling the fabrication apparatus and the supply apparatus based on an operation mode selected from a plurality of predetermined operation modes.

Solid freeform fabrication using a plurality of modeling materials

Apparatus for producing a three-dimensional model by sequentially forming layers of photopolymer material one on top of the other responsive to data defining the three-dimensional model is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one printing head configured to dispense the photopolymer material, an array of LEDs controllable to provide radiation to polymerize the photopolymer material and a controller. The controller is configured to control the at least one printing head to dispense the photopolymer material to sequentially form the layers of material. The controller is also configured to turn on the array of LEDs to provide the radiation to cure the photopolymer material when situated above the model and to turn off the array of LEDs when not situated above the model.

Rapid prototyping apparatus

System for controlling fabrication of three-dimensional objects, layer by layer are disclosed. The system includes a printing assembly having an irradiation unit and a printing head, the printing assembly is movable between a printing area and a service area. The system further includes a light sensor positioned at the service area to measure the output radiation power of the irradiation unit and a controller to receive information from the sensor and to automatically adjust the electrical power supplied to the irradiation unit.

Methods for monitoring electro-magnetic radiation power in solid freeform fabrication systems

Apparatus for producing an object by sequentially forming thin layers of a construction material one on top of the other responsive to data defining the object, the apparatus comprising: a plurality of printing heads each having a surface formed with a plurality of output orifices and controllable to dispense the construction material through each orifice independently of the other orifices; a shuttle to which the printing heads are mounted; a support surface; and a controller adapted to control the shuttle to move back and forth over the support surface and as the shuttle moves to control the printing heads to dispense the construction material through each of their respective orifices responsive to the data to form a first layer on the support surface and thereafter, sequentially the other layers; wherein each printing head is dismountable from the shuttle and replaceable independently of the other printing heads.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a system and method for controlling fabrication of three-dimensional objects, layer by layer, the system comprising a printing assembly, including an irradiation unit and a printing head, the printing assembly is movable between a printing area and a service area. A light sensor positioned at the service area to measure output radiation power of the irradiation unit at a printing plane and a controller to receive information from the sensor and to automatically adjust electrical power supplied to the irradiation unit based on the information.
