A sound system design/simulation system provides a more realistic simulation of an existing venue by matching a measured reverberation characteristic of the existing venue and adjusting one or more acoustic parameters characterizing the model such that a predicted reverberation characteristic substantially matches the measured reverberation characteristic.

System and method for sound system simulation

The invention is directed to a display and method for conducting sound system design. The display is configured to simultaneously show a sound system model comprising both audio components and sound environment components, a plurality of parameters and a graphic representation of a calculated sound system performance attribute. In response to receiving input from the user and without any additional user intervention, the display re-displays a newly-calculated sound system performance attribute such as, for example, a graphic representation in the sound system model of a sound path associated with a user-selected reflected sound identifier. A processor also simulates, based on the sound system configuration, the sound performance that a user would expect to hear positioned in an identified listening position of the sound system model.

A sound system design/simulation system includes background noise to provide more realistic sound renderings of the designed space and more accurate quality measures of the design space. The background noise may be provided as a library in the design system that allows the user to select a background noise profile. The user may also provide a recording of a background noise from the built space or from a similar space. The design system converts the recorded background noise to a background noise profile and adds the profile to the library of background noise profiles. The user can select a background noise profile and associate the profile with a specified space. The user can adjust the noise level of the background noise and the design system automatically updates one or more quality measures in response to the change in background noise level.

A vortex generator uses a single piece to generate the vortex and hold the electrode. The single piece may be a non-conductive material such as a ceramic. The vortex generator may use threads to hold the electrode. The threads and holes for generating the vortex may be bored into the base material of the vortex generator before the base material is hardened.

The system includes a conveyor that conveys the object, a guide that guides the object, and an electrode that provides an electrical discharge. The guide is typically set to guide the object laterally with respect to the direction of the conveyor. The guide is generally used to place an object at a predetermined distance from the electrode. Also, the system may include multiple electrodes. The plural electrodes may be used to treat multiple sides of the object. Also, the electrodes may be positioned such that they are not coplanar with the conveyor. The system is suitably used to treat hollow objects which are in filling positions.

The first conveyor is configured to convey the object toward the guide. The electrode is configured to provide an electrical discharge. A modular audio loudspeaker array system. The system includes a first speaker module, and a second speaker module, constructed and arranged to radiate sound waves responsive to audio signals. The system further includes a processing parameter selection device, comprising a plurality of preset indicators, each of the preset indicators corresponding to a predetermined parameter value difference, wherein the predetermined parameter value difference and a one of the plurality of predetermined distances corresponds to a predetermined radiation pattern.

A corona discharge treatment apparatus or system and method for treating both insulating and conductive surfaces including a ground member and a plurality of flat electrodes aligned flat side in a row and each electrode having at least one finger-like protrusion with a pointed tip having a radius in the range of about 0.010 to about 0.125 and operating in a high kilo frequency range of about 20k Hz to 30k Hz. The electrodes are individually rotatably mounted to move to and away from the ground member so that the row length of the electrodes can be adjusted to be the same dimension as the width of material to be treated or to only treat selected portions of the material.
