A wearable EEG monitor for continuously monitoring the EEG of a user through capacitive coupling to an ear canal of a user includes an ear insert () for positioning within the human ear canal, having at least two capacitive electrodes () for recording a signal. The electrodes are coated with a dielectricum for electrical insulation. The electrodes are connected to an amplifier (). The amplifier has an input impedance matched to the impedance of the electrodes. The invention further provides a method of monitoring brain waves.

The method comprises capturing a plurality of images of a single biometric object during a single activation of a biometric sensor and ranking the images based on a ranking metric value of each of the images to determine a highest ranked image and at least one non-highest ranked image. The method comprises comparing, in a first matching attempt for the biometric object, the highest ranked image to templates of a plurality of pre-stored biometric object templates, wherein a matching metric is determined for each compared template, and generating a match indicating signal when it is determined that at least one of the matching metrics exceeds a matching threshold value. When it is determined that none of the matching metrics exceed the matching threshold value, one of the non-highest ranked images is compared, in a further matching attempt, to templates of the plurality of templates based on the matching metrics.

Template matching of a biometric object

A personal wearable EEG monitor comprising an implantable electrode part with at least two electrodes () for measuring an EEG signal of a person. The electrode part comprises an electronic circuit arranged in a housing () with each electrode arranged external to the housing. A method of authenticating a finger against a stored template and expanding the stored template. The method comprises acquiring a present fingerprint image; retrieving a stored enrollment representation, comprising said stored template, and a representation of at least a first previous fingerprint image acquired in connection with a previous failed authentication attempt; and determining if the stored template should be expanded. When it is determined that a first match between a present fingerprint image representation and the stored template fulfills a first template updating requirement and a second match between the present fingerprint image representation and said at least first previous fingerprint image representation fulfills said second template updating requirement, a signal indicating a successful authentication is provided; and a first expanded template is formed based on said stored template, said present fingerprint image and said at least first previous fingerprint image.

A hearing aid comprising a time domain codec. The codec comprises a decoder adapted to generate a decoded output signal based on an input quantization index and an encoder for generating an output quantization index based on an input signal, said encoder comprising said decoder and a predictor receiving an excitation signal derived from said decoder output signal and outputting a prediction signal. The output quantization index is determined by repeated decoding of the quantization indices in order to minimize the error between the input signal and the prediction signal, and the predictor uses a recursive autocorrelation estimate for the error minimization.
