A method in gait rehabilitation for detecting a foot being lifted comprises: receiving () a plurality of signals from respective pressure sensors (), mounted beneath a foot of a person, each signal providing a time sequence of values representing asserted pressure; processing the received signals, wherein said processing comprises, for each signal, assigning states to the respective pressure sensor () for determining when the foot is being lifted for walking, and wherein said assigning of states comprises: identifying that the sequence of values are maintained above an upper threshold () for a duration exceeding a time threshold (); and upon such identifying assigning a prepared state to the sensor (); and, when the sensor () is in the prepared state, identifying () a value below a lower threshold () indicating that the foot is potentially lifted; and upon such identifying assigning an unprepared state to the sensor (); and wherein said processing further comprises, when assigning an unprepared state to a first sensor, determining () whether a prepared state is assigned to a second sensor and comparing () a priority of the first sensor and the second sensor.

Gait detection algorithm

A system for treatment of gait disorders reflects, with electrical stimulation patterns fed to electrodes () arranged at the patient, on the event of heel-strike and heel-off, the events being generated by a wireless heel switch (). The pulse generator () also transfers the electrical energy needed to operate the heel switch () wirelessly. The event signal from the heel switch () is modulated in order to achieve a longer operating range.

System for electrical stimulation of nerves

A system for treatment of gait disorders includes an external device in the form of a pulse generator () with an integrated rechargeable battery and a device adapted to be implanted in the human body. The system features an external to the body placed antenna () for the inductive link between the external device and the implanted device. This antenna further incorporates an additional secondary coil (), for inductively charging the battery in the pulse generator. The fixture on the antenna for mounting the antenna on the skin of the person is reused for being received in a charger fixture () on the charger, containing the primary coil () for the transfer of charging power.

Control for a system for electrical treatment of nerves

In a system for stimulation of nerves comprising implanted electrodes, an external to the system trigger device is equipped with a sensor and a transmitter for wirelessly broadcasting a signal to be received by a pulse generator for generating a pulse pattern to be forwarded to the at least one electrode implanted in the corpus of the living being. Further the trigger device is equipped with means for detecting if the patient is walking or just standing pulling the weight from one leg to another and can thus determine if a stimulation sequence has to be performed.

A mounting for fixing a transmitter or receiver to a surface comprises a mounting pad and a transmitter or receiver housing, the mounting pad having a face for applying to the surface and an opposite face and being provided with a first mating component of a rotatable connection and the transmitter or receiver housing having a second cooperating mating component of the rotatable connection, whereby the two components are mateable to mount the transmitter or receiver housing rotatably on the opposite face of the mounting pad.
