A container device for transporting and releasing a plugging material into a well includes a longitudinal chamber for containing the plugging material, the chamber including a tubular wall extending in a longitudinal direction and at least one opening for releasing the plugging material from the chamber; a lower seal extending across the opening and closing the chamber in a closed configuration; a pressure application mechanism provided at an upper portion of the container device for pressurising at least part of the device and expelling the plugging material; and a connector provided at an upper portion of the container device for attaching the container device to an elongate member for lowering into a wellbore.

A method of performing a well bore operation in a well bore includes connecting a window mill to a whipstock connector forming a tubular section, supporting a tool below the whipstock connector, running the window mill, the whipstock connector, and the tool into the well bore, and axially loading the tool to perform the well bore operation.

A tubular for use in the creation or completion of, or production from, an oil and/or gas well. The tubular comprises; an elongate main body; a stab-in connector element located at an end of the main body; and a rotatable connection sleeve disposed coaxially around a first end portion of the main body at or near said end of the main body. The connection sleeve is configured to provide a mechanical coupling between the tubular and another tubular without requiring rotation of the main body, to thereby provide a stab-in connection between the stab-in connector element of the tubular and a complementary stab-in connector element of the other tubular for electrical power and/or data transmission.

A window cutting system includes a whipstock connector including an inner surface having at least one projection. A window mill is connected to the whipstock connector. The window mill includes a body having a connector member, a tip portion, a recess formed on an outer surface of the body, an axial passage extending from the connector member toward the tip portion and a radial passage extending outwardly from the axial passage. A pin is arranged in the radial passage and selectively extending into the recess.

A tool for use in a borehole to perform a milling, under reaming, or other cutting operation includes a tool body configured for rotation about its longitudinal axis, within the borehole, and a set of cutters, the set including two or more cutters which, at least in a deployed configuration, extend outwardly from the tool body and are fixedly coupled together whilst being pivotally coupled to the tool body substantially on said axis so that the cutters rotate with the tool body whilst being pivotable together relative to the tool body during cutting.

A window cutting system includes a window mill having a body including a connector member, a tip portion, and a plurality of blades arranged between the connector member and the tip portion. Each of the plurality of blades supports a plurality of cutting elements. A lug pocket is formed in at least one of the plurality of blades adjacent the plurality of cutting elements. A whipstock connector detachably coupled to the window mill. The whipstock connector including an outer surface and an inner surface, and at least one lug projecting radially inwardly from the inner surface. The at least one lug is selectively received by the lug pocket to connect the whipstock connector to the window mill.

A method for achieving zonal control in a wellbore when using casing or liner drilling includes providing a slotted tubular section in a wellbore while drilling; providing a sleeve adjacent to and radially overlapping with the slotted tubular section, while drilling; and moving the sleeve relative to the slotted tubular section so as to permit and/or restrict flow through the slotted tubular section in one or more selected zones.

Method for achieving zonal control in a wellbore when using casing or liner drilling

A method of sealing an annulus around a drill-pipe when drilling down-hole includes providing a deflated packer on a drill-pipe when drilling down-hole; opening one or more ports to the packer using a ball-activated valve; and circulating drilling fluid to inflate said packer through said one or more ports, to thereby form a seal in the annulus around the drill-pipe. An apparatus to carry out this method is also provided.

A method of completing a well which has a longitudinal axis along a direction with a horizontal component, the method comprising rotating a first string and moving the first string into the well along the longitudinal axis of the well, providing a swivel joint rotatably connecting the first string to a second string, moving the second string along the longitudinal axis of the well into the well, wherein the second string comprises completion equipment, moving the completion equipment into the well along the longitudinal axis of the well.

Apparatus for drilling and lining a wellbore is described herein. A method of drilling and lining a wellbore is also described herein. A liner hanger is provided, secured in use on a liner. The liner hanger is operable selectively to be set and unset. The liner hanger is adapted to support the liner within an existing casing when set and to release the liner from the casing when unset. A liner hanger setting tool is provided, secured in use on a drill string. The liner hanger setting tool is actuatable selectively to set and unset the liner hanger. The liner hanger setting tool is operable selectively to be activated and deactivated. The liner hanger setting tool is adapted to attach to the liner and/or liner hanger when activated, to support the liner, and to release from the liner and/or liner hanger when deactivated. The method comprises the following steps: (a) setting the liner hanger by actuating the liner hanger setting tool; (b) deactivating the liner hanger setting tool; (c) extending the borehole using the drill string; (d) returning the drill string to its position at the setting step or the deactivating step; (e) activating the liner hanger setting tool; (f) unsetting the liner hanger by actuating the liner hanger setting tool; and (g) lowering the liner down the extended borehole on the drill string.

Method and apparatus for drilling and lining a wellbore

A method of forming a wellbore is disclosed. An inner string and an outer string are conveyed downhole. The inner string is attached to the outer string at a first location and the wellbore is formed. The inner stringy is attached to the outer string at a second location us hole of the first location and an annulus between the outer string and the wellbore is cemented without retrieving the inner string from the wellbore.
