A method and apparatus are for providing information to at least one other wireless communication device (WCD of a group of WCDs of which the WCD is a member, wherein the WCDs in the group have agreed to share computing resources. An assignment as one of a provider WCD and a recipient WCD is received in response to the information. At least one of two actions is taken. The first action is to operate, as a provider WCD, a power intensive portion of an application and providing the results to at least one recipient WCD of the group of WCDs. The second action is to operate, as a recipient WCD, to receive the results. Another method provides for a WCD to make a selection of the provider and recipient WCDs.

Apparatus and method for improving application performance within a group of communication devices

A method, a system, and a computer program product for reducing heat generated during projection of visual content. The method includes determining a temperature of at least one light emitter that projects a visual content based on calibration data. The method further includes determining, by a processor, whether the temperature exceeds a temperature threshold. The method further includes calculating, by the processor, at least one adjustment that reduces a level of heat generated by the at least one light emitter during projection of the visual content. The at least one adjustment overrides at least one portion of the calibration data. The method further includes applying the at least one adjustment to the at least one light emitter and modulating the at least one light emitter to project the visual content in accordance with the at least one adjustment applied to the calibration data.

According to one embodiment, the electronic system determines its location and a solar thermal load value expected to affect its location. The system also determines a temperature offset value based on the solar thermal load value and predicts a future temperature for the system based on the temperature offset value and a then-current temperature for the system (e.g., as may be detected by one or more temperature sensors). The electronic system compares the predicted temperature to at least one threshold and executes a thermal mitigation procedure in the event that the predicted temperature exceeds one or more of the thresholds. According to another embodiment in which the electronic system is transportable, the determined solar thermal load value may include a solar thermal load profile for the system's expected route of travel.
