A system including at least one aerially mounted camera and at least one processor performs a method for selecting a location to place a virtual tripwire onto grid points of a geocoordinate grid. The processor(s) directs a camera to capture a series of images within the camera's field of view. The processor(s) identifies one or more objects of interest within the images and determines movements of the objects through the series of images. The processor(s) identifies directions of travel of the objects of interest. The processor(s) further determines a vector of direction of travel for each object of interest on the grid. The processor(s) then determines at least one candidate location for placement of the virtual tripwire and automatically selects a location for placement of the virtual tripwire based at least on the vector of direction of travel for an object of interest.

Automated virtual tripwire placement

A system and method limit the scope of video analytics performed by a processor with limited processing power, such as an edge processor in communication with multiple imaging devices disposed within a monitored area. According to one embodiment, the processor accesses image data from each image capture device and performs non-operational video analytics to detect objects within the respective image data. The processor compares the detected objects in the respective image data over one or more time lapse periods. Based on results of the comparisons, the processor determines parameters for configuration files for the image capture devices, where each configuration file includes parameters for adjusting the respective image capture device to capture images of one or more particular areas of interest within the monitored area and/or disabling a transfer of image data from the respective image capture device. The processor communicates each configuration file to its respective image capture device.

Automated scope limiting for video analytics

A system includes one or more video capture devices and a processor coupled to each video capture device. Each processor is operable to direct its respective video capture device to obtain an image of a monitored area and process the image to identify objects of interest represented in the image. The processor is also operable to generate bounding perimeter virtual objects for the identified objects of interest, each bounding perimeter virtual object surrounding at least part of its respective object of interest. The processor is further operable to determine danger zones for the identified objects of interest based on the bounding perimeter virtual objects. The processor is further operable to determine at least one near-miss condition based at least in part on an actual or predicted overlap of danger zones for multiple objects of interest, and may optionally generate an alert at least partially in response to the near-miss condition.

Node-based near-miss detection

A system includes an imaging device configured to capture image data of a monitored area and a computing device having at least one processor. The computing device processor is configured to receive first image data from the imaging device and second image data from a satellite imagery system, where the second image data relates to the monitored area. The processor is also configured to determine a first set of points of interest in the first image data and a second set of points of interest in the second image data, wherein members of each set of points of interest are represented by a respective vector. The processor is further configured to generate a homography matrix based on the two vectors and determine, using the homography matrix, latitude and longitude coordinates of at least one object represented in the first image data but not the second image data.

Homography through satellite image matching

One or more computing devices perform a method for placing a virtual tripwire onto grid points of a geocoordinate grid. A device processor directs a camera to capture a series of images within the camera's field of view. The processor identifies objects of interest within the images and determines movements of the objects through the images. The processor identifies directions of travel of the objects and determines variances in those directions of travel. The processor further determines vectors of median direction of travel for vector points corresponding to the objects on the grid. The processor then determines multiple candidate locations for placement of the tripwire across grid points of the grid in a direction approximately orthogonal to the direction of travel of at least one object of interest and automatically selects one of the candidate locations based on the vectors of median direction of travel and the travel direction variances.

A system includes an aerially mounted video capture device and a processor. The processor is operable to direct the video capture device to obtain an image of a monitored area and process the image to identify objects of interest represented in the image. The processor is also operable to generate bounding perimeter virtual objects for the identified objects of interest, which substantially surround their respective objects of interest. The processor is further operable to determine danger zones for the identified objects of interest based on the bounding perimeter virtual objects. Each danger zone represents a distance threshold about a respective object of interest. The processor is further operable to determine at least one near-miss condition based at least in part on an actual or predicted overlap of danger zones for two or more objects of interest, and to generate an alert at least partially in response to the near-miss condition.

Provided is a traffic communication network that includes a signaling system having a plurality of light signaling devices, a controller disposed at at least one traffic intersection, and configured to wirelessly control the plurality of light signaling devices. A remote control system is also provided to wirelessly transmit commands to the controller and directly to the plurality of light signaling devices.

The traffic lamp can include a controller and a light emitting element When a plurality of light emitting elements is included in the traffic lamp, each light emitting element is coupled with a separate controller. Each controller can be configured to include a predetermined light emitting timing sequence for the corresponding light emitting element. When the power signal is supplied to the traffic lamp, each controller determines a power signal characteristic such as a frequency or a period of the power signal and controls a light output of the light emitting element: based on the power signal characteristic and the light emitting timing sequence. A plurality of light emitting elements can be synchronized using the power signal applied to the traffic lamp.

LED traffic lamp control system

Systems and methods for monitoring operating parameters of traffic lamps. A traffic lamp includes one or more memory modules and a controller. The controller receives data pertaining to one or more operating parameters of the traffic lamp and logs the one or more operating parameters to the one or more memory modules using the received data. The controller may log the one or more operating parameters to the one or more memory modules upon detection of a fault in the one or more operating parameters.

A dimmable LED lamp assembly includes a power supply configured to receive an input power signal and produce a DC lamp current, a LED lamp coupled to the DC lamp current and configured to produce an amount of light corresponding to an amount of the DC lamp current, and a dimming controller coupled to the power supply and configured to adjust the amount of DC lamp current. The dimming controller is coupled to the input power signal and is further configured to determine a required dimming level based on the input power signal and to adjust the amount of DC lamp current such that the amount of light produced by the LED lamp corresponds to the determined required dimming level.

An LED lamp assembly includes a power supply configured to receive an input power signal and provide a DC lamp current, a dimming controller coupled to the power supply and configured to adjust the DC lamp current, and an LED lamp coupled to the DC lamp current.
