A safety barrier for a subway or railway train including pairs of individual pivoting triangular gate members with a smooth wall panel at the base of the triangle. Each gate member is retractable within a recess in the end wall of the train car near a corner and are expandable to form a partial continuation of the side wall of the train car and to form with an adjacent barrier on the rear end wall a safety barrier to prevent persons from entering the gap between the cars from either side of the train.

A floatable snowmobile make up of a one-piece molded plastics body comprising an engine compartment with a recess defined therein for receiving an engine and accessories; an elongated seat-bench provided with a recess for receiving a track assembly; and a cargo support extending rearwardly thereof. The molded body includes a rigid skin forming the shell defining an enclosed cavity in which there is provided an expanded closed-cell foam core of water-buoyant material. The skis are constructed as pontoons of similar construction to the body, and the whole snowmobile can float with a portion thereof out of the water so as to support a rider clear of the water in the event the snowmobile falls through ice.

The trailer disclosed is hitched to an all-terrain vehicle, particularly an all-terrain tricycle, not just by the conventional universal-swiveling trailer hitch but also by spring struts. The springs extend and converge forwards and upwards from the ends of the trailer axle to attachment points behind the seat of the vehicle. The springs aid in making the combined vehicle and trailer more manageable over rough ground. The springs especially curb a tendency of a tricycle when under power to rear up at the front. The invention is particularly for use when tracks are added between the trailer wheels and the vehicle wheels.

In a self-supporting paint tray, the improvement wherein the bottom wall is formed to provide a generally planner base for the tray extending inwardly from the side and end walls of the tray. The base comprises a generally, horizontally extending first support wall formed on the underside of the paint reservoir and a pair of L-shaped second support walls projecting from the first support wall, one along each side wall of the tray to the other end wall of the tray and a short distance laterally inwardly along the end wall of the tray. The ramp has side walls which extend downwardly to said second support walls in an oppositely disposed relationship with respect to said side walls and the ramp has an inner end wall communicating with said first support wall.

A ferruleless paint brush comprises, a bristle knot having one end embedded in a rigid molded plastic head and a detachable handle. The handle is molded to a form which adapts it for engagement with the head which is likewise adapted such that the head and handle are releasably engagable. The head may be pivotally mounted on the handle. In addition the head may be in the form of a plurality of modules one or more of which may be employed to provide heads of different widths. A storage device for paint brushes is also provide. The storage device comprises; a receptacle having a chamber proportioned to receive at least a major portion of a paint brush head in a close-fitting relationship and a closure cap adapted to sealingly engage the receptacle to seal said chamber. A valve opens into the chamber through which conditioning fluid may be introduced into said chamber when said cap is sealed to said receptacle.

An improved implement handle assembly according to the present invention comprises a first and second jaw each having a clamping face adapted to co-operate with one another to releasably engage a mounting member of an implement when in a face-to-face clamping relationship, the first jaw being fast with respect to the handle. The first jaw has a mounting edge extending transversely of the distal end thereof and the second jaw has a locking lip formed at the distal end thereof which is shaped and proportioned to hook around the mounting edge when the jaws are in the clamping position to lock the jaws closed. The second jaw has its proximal end both pivotally and slidably mounted with respect to said handle whereby said first jaw may slide between an extended and a retracted position and may pivot between an open position and a clamping position with respect to the first jaw such that, when said second jaw is in the retracted and clamping position the locking lip is hooked around the mounting edge to prevent pivotal movement of the second jaw and the second jaw is free to pivot between said clamping position and said open position when the second is in the extended position.

Paint tray and liner therefor

A hand tool according to the present invention comprises in combination, a workpiece assembly and a handle assembly adapted for quick release coupling to one another to provide a manually supported tool having rapidly interchangeable workpieces. The workpiece assembly includes a work head adapted to function as a painting or decorating tool or the like and a support member on the head. The support member has a section of its length disposed rearwardly from the head which extends in a tortuous path to form a first coupler element. The handle assembly comprises an elongated manually engageable handle and a quick release clamp. The quick release clamp comprises first and second jaws which have a clamping face formed with a channel-shaped clamping recess which extends along a tortuous path corresponding to that followed by the coupler element whereby the coupler element may be seated in the clamping recess in a close fitting relationship. The tortuous path in the clamp and on the support member are arranged in a configuration to prevent relative movement between the head and the handle in use.
