The present invention provides a thermoplastic resin composition including specific amounts of (A) a polypropylene resin, (B) an elastomer, (C) inorganic filler, (D) a resin having a melt tension of 0.1 N or more and a swelling ratio of 1.8 or more and being characterized by that the time required for the resin until the ratio (G(t)/G(0.02)) of a relaxation modulus G(t) measured at 210&#xb0; C. to a relaxation modulus G(0.02) at a time of 0.02 sec reaches 0.01 is 10 sec or more, and (E) a resin characterized by that, with respect to a swelling ratio measured at 220&#xb0; C. at an L/D of an orifice of 40, the ratio of a swelling ratio (SR10) at a shear rate of 2.4&#xd7;10secto a swelling ratio (SR10) at a shear rate of 1.2&#xd7;10sec, SR10/SR10, is from 1.0 to 1.1.

Thermoplastic resin composition and its injection molded article

Disclosed is a thermoplastic resin composition that contains specific amounts of polypropylene resin (A), elastomer (B), inorganic filler (C) and resin (D) which is composed of 60 to 80% by weight of a first segment which is a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-ethylene random copolymer and has an intrinsic viscosity, measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of 5 dl/g or more and 20 to 40% by weight of a second segment which is a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-ethylene random copolymer and has an intrinsic viscosity, measured in tetralin at 135&#xb0; C., of 0.8 to 1.2 dl/g.

Disclosed is a polypropylene resin composition comprising (A) from 40 to 98% by weight of polypropylene resin, (B) from 1 to 30% by weight of basic magnesium sulfate fiber having a surface treated with montan wax wherein fibers contained in primary fibers have an average fiber length of from 7 to 10 &mgr;m and the percentage of primary fibers containing fibers having a fiber length of 20 &mgr;m or more is 10% by weight or less and (C) from 1 to 30% by weight of talc, provided that the total weight of the components (A), (B) and (C) is adjusted to 100% by weight.

Basic magnesium sulfate fiber-reinforced polypropylene resin composition and injection molded article using the resin composition

A thermoplastic composition which is obtained by melt-kneading (1) 55 to 75 wt. % crystalline polypropylene resin together with (2) 10 to 30 wt. % elastomer comprising either a rubber containing a vinyl aromatic compound or a mixture thereof with an ethylene/&agr;-olefin random copolymer rubber and (3) 15 to 25 wt. % talc having an average particle diameter of 3 &mgr;m or smaller. The composition satisfies specific requirements with respect to: the long period obtained by X-ray small-angle scattering attributable to the vinyl aromatic-containing rubber in a blend obtained by melt-kneading the ingredients (1) and (2); the shape and diameter of the elastomer particles present near the polypropylene/elastomer interface in the blend; and the difference between the glass transition point of the ingredient (1) and that of the composition attributable to the crystalline polypropylene homopolymer parts. The composition has a satisfactory balance between impact resistance and rigidity and has excellent injection moldability.
