An eyepiece optical system includes a focal-plane plate, having a positive refractive power on one side and a diffusion surface on the other side thereof; a reflector which reflects light rays of an object image, formed on the diffusion surface, a predetermined number of times; an optical lens group, by which the object image is observed, in that order along an optical path from the object side to the viewing side; and a condenser lens element, having a positive refractive power, provided between the focal-plane plate and the reflector, the condenser lens element having an aspherical surface formed on at least one side thereof. At least one of the aspherical surface of the condenser lens element has a profile, when viewed macroscopically, such that the positive refractive power thereof increasingly weakens with respect to a direction away from the optical axis.

Eyepiece optical system

A finder optical system includes an image inverter optical member and an eyepiece lens system. The eyepiece lens system includes a first lens element, a positive biconvex second lens element, and a meniscus third lens element having a concave surface on the eyepoint side, in that order from the object side. A diopter adjustment operation is performed by moving the second lens element along the optical axis. Conditions (1) and (2) are satisfied:&#x2212;0.2&#x3c;3&#x3c;0.2&#x2003;&#x2003;(1), and2.15&#x3c;(3&#x2212;1)/3&#x3c;3.00&#x2003;&#x2003;(2),wherein f designates the focal length of the entire the eyepiece lens system at a diopter of &#x2212;1, f3 designates the focal length of the third lens element, L3n designates the refractive index at the d-line of the third lens element, and L3b designates the radius of curvature of the surface on the eyepoint side of the third lens element.

Finder optical system

A focus detection device, which detects a defocus amount based on a phase difference between a pair of object images that are obtained by pupil division and projected onto a pair of areas on a line sensor, includes a parallel line sensor having two line sensor arrays arranged adjacently in parallel, and a correction calculator which corrects the defocus amount according to a phase difference between output signals of the two line sensor arrays of the parallel line sensor.

Focus detection device

A multifocal intraocular lens simulator includes an optical system enabling an object to be observed therethrough, and a test lens holder which holds a prescribed test intraocular lens. The intraocular lens holder is installed at a position optically conjugate with a position at which an eye of an observer is to be placed. Confocal scanning endoscope system and image display area adjustment method thereof

An optical system of a focus detection apparatus includes a condenser lens positioned behind an expected focal plane of a photographing lens; an auxiliary lens group positioned behind the condenser lens to be coaxial therewith; and a pair of separator lenses positioned behind the auxiliary lens group in close vicinity thereof and integrally molded from resin. An object image formed on the expected focal plane is divided into two images by the pair of separator lenses to be reformed on a pair of areas on a sensor, respectively, and the auxiliary lens group includes a negative lens element made of resin, and a positive lens element made of glass.

Optical system of a focus detection apparatus

An optical system for stereoscopic rigid endoscope is provided with first and second objective optical systems arranged to have a predetermined clearance therebetween and an optical path combining system that polarizes light passed through the first and second objective optical systems in directions perpendicular to each other. Binocular magnifying glasses

In an optical viewer instrument with a photographing function, there is provided a telescopic lens system for observing objects, and a digital camera system including a solid-state image sensor and a photographing lens system associated with each other such that an object is formed as a photographed image on the solid-state image sensor through the photographing lens system. A manually-operable focussing mechanism is associated with the telescopic lens system and the photographing lens system such that the object is brought into focus through the telescopic lens system, and such that the object is brought into focus through the photographing lens system. Optical parameters are selected such that predetermined conditions are fulfilled, whereby the focussing of the telescopic lens system and the focusing of the photographing lens system can be suitably and properly performed by the focussing mechanism.

Optical viewer instrument with photographing function

In an optical viewer instrument with a photographing function, a telescopic lens system for observing an object and a digital camera system for photographing the object are housed in a casing. A manually-operable rotary wheel is rotatably provided in the casing such that a portion of the rotary wheel is exposed to the outside from the casing to bring the object into focus through the telescopic lens system. A display panel unit for displaying the object as a motion picture on a display screen thereof is mounted on the casing so as to be movable between a retracted position, where the display screen of the display panel unit is close to a wall surface of the casing, and a display position, where the display screen of the display panel unit is directed to the ocular-lens-system side of the telescopic lens system. A zoom eyepiece optical system, which is used with an objective optical system, includes a first lens group which is stationary with respect to the objective optical system, a negative second lens group which is movable upon zooming, a positive third lens group which is movable upon zooming, and a stationary positive fourth lens group, in this order from the objective optical system. Upon zooming from the long focal length extremity to the short focal length extremity of the zoom eyepiece optical system, the negative second lens group and the positive third lens group move away from each other, and an intermediate image is formed between the negative second lens group and the positive third lens group.

An image separating device connected to a rigid endoscope has a Pechan prism to shift the optical axis of an objective optical system contained in the rigid endoscope, X- and Y-stages and a moving mechanism for moving the Pechan prism in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective optical system, and an enlarging optical system having an optical axis parallel with the optical axis of the objective optical system. As the Pechan prism is shifted, the image formed through the objective optical system is relatively shifted within its image plane, so that the image re-formed through a first image re-forming optical system is picked up by a first CCD camera without any decentering aberration, inclination relative to a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the first image re-forming optical system, nor image rotation about the optical axis.

A beam splitter for a digital camera splits light passed through a photographing lens into beams directed to a CCD and a finder optical system. The beam splitter includes at least one optical element provided with a beam splitting surface that is inclined with respect to an optical axis of the photographing lens, and a multi-layer film including a plurality of layers of dielectric materials is formed on the beam splitting surface. The multi-layer film is configured such that the beam splitting surface exhibits a substantially constant reflectivity at least for visible light that is incident on the beam splitting surface at any incident angle within a predetermined range.
