A method of attaching/detaching a catalytic unit according to an embodiment is a method of attaching/detaching a catalytic unit accommodated in a reactor housing of a catalytic reactor, including a step of passing the catalytic unit through a gas inlet formed at a top portion of the reactor housing to attach or detach the catalytic unit to or from the reactor housing having a cylindrical shape extending in a vertical direction and configured such that a gas having a gauge pressure of 0.2 Mpa or more is introduced thereto.

An exhaust gas cooler includes: a steam drum containing first water; an economizer for heat exchange between exhaust gas and the first water supplied from the steam drum; and a feedwater pipe for supplying the first water with second water having a lower temperature than the first water. The exhaust gas cooler is configured such that the first water flowing out of the economizer is introduced into the steam drum. The second water is divided and supplied to the first water flowing out of the economizer and the first water flowing into the economizer.

A drift at the bare tube part of the heat-transfer tube bundles can be significantly reduced.

An air pollution control apparatus includes at least one denitration catalyst layer for reducing the amounts of nitrogen oxides in flue gas from a boiler and oxidizing mercury with hydrogen chloride sprayed into the flue gas. Spraying pipe headersare disposed in a flue gas duct. The spraying pipe headersare inserted into the flue gas ductand arranged in a direction orthogonal to the direction of a gas flow in the flue gas duct. At least four spray nozzles-to-are disposed at intervals on the spraying pipe headerto form a vertical vortex flowin the gas flow direction. A swirling diffuser plate is disposed on an opening side of the spray nozzles to form the vertical vortex flow in the gas flow direction, wherein the swirling diffuser plate has a flat shape at one side parallel to the spraying pipe header and a wavy shape corresponding to the nozzle intervals on the header at the other side. The diffusion of hydrogen chloride is thereby facilitated in a rapid manner. Therefore, the number of the nozzles can be reduced, and the uniformity of the concentration of hydrogen chloride at the location of the catalyst can be ensured even when the spacing between the nozzles is increased.

A mercury reduction system includes an NHCl supplying unit that sprays an NHCl solution into a flue of the boiler, a reduction denitration apparatus that includes a denitration catalyst for reducing NOx in the flue gas with NHand oxidizing Hg in the presence of HCl, and a wet desulfurization apparatus for reducing Hg oxidized in the reduction denitration apparatus with limestone-gypsum slurry. The NHCl supplying unit includes an NHCl solution feed pipe that supplies the NHCl solution into the flue in a liquid state, a blow pipe that is inserted into the flue so as to surround the NHCl solution feed pipe and through which air is injected into the flue, and a two-fluid nozzle that is fitted to an end of the NHCl solution feed pipe and through which the NHCl solution is injected.
