Disclosed are a peroxidase composition and an antibody composition with high stability. In the compositions of the present invention, a substituted benzene ring having at least one hydroxyl group and at least one substituting group selected from the group consisting of groups with a Hammett sigma value .sigma. p of not more than -0.20, groups with a Hammett sigma value .sigma. p of not less than +0.24 and amide group is contained as a stabilizer for stabilizing the activity of peroxidase or the antibody.

Stabilized peroxidase compositions and antibody compositions

A substantially purified cancer-related galactosyltransferase and a monoclonal antibody which may be used as a diagnostic reagent of cancer are disclosed. The galactosyltransferase of the present invention has a molecular weight of about 50,000 determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under reducing conditions and has a reactivity with MAb4880 under native conditions. A part of the galactosyltransferase self-associates and its reactivity with MAb4880 and the degree of self-association are promoted when it is reduced so that a part of which is detected in a fraction of a molecular weight of not less than 200,000 in gel permeation chromatography. The galactosyltransferase of the present invention can be used as a cancer marker or as a reagent for preparing a monoclonal antibody with a specificity to the galactosyltransferase, which monoclonal antibody can be used as a diagnostic of a cancer. The monoclonal antibody of the invention specifically reacts with the cancer-related galactosyltransferase of the invention.

There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material containing a compound represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein G, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and X have the same meanings as defined in the specification. The 1-naphthol coupler which is contained in the light-sensitive silver halide photographic material is high in reactivity with an oxidized product of a color forming developing agent and can efficiently impart imagewise photographic effects to light-sensitive silver halide photographic materials.

There is disclosed a novel silver halide photosensitive color photographic material comprising a coupler which consists of a coupling component (A) which is capable of causing a coupling reaction with an oxidized color developing agent and a substituent component bonded at the coupling position of said coupling component (A), which substituent component is capable of being split off on coupling reaction, the improvement characterized in that said substituent comprises a coupling component (B) which can undergo coupling reaction with an oxidized color developing agent when released from said coupling component (A) and a photographically useful component which is capable of being released on coupling reaction of said coupling component (B). The color photographic material according to the present invention provides graininess, sharpness and color reproducibility which is sufficiently competent to the requirement of further miniturization of film size by use of a coupler having novel functions.
