To provide an electrostatic capacitor-type sensor that does not require regulation such as zero-point adjustment and temperature compensation, etc. A pair of semi-circular differential electrodes are positioned next to each other in the vertical direction with a common electrode arranged so as to face the differential electrodes, with a fixed gap therebetween. The pair of differential electrodes and the common electrode are housed within an airtight container, and a dielectric fluid is sealed within the airtight container. The differential electrode on an upper side and the common electrode form an upper variable capacitor, and the differential electrode on the lower side and the common electrode form a lower variable capacitor.

A communication control apparatus for enabling an A/D converter to be shared among a plurality of input units to eliminate the work for newly installing an A/D converter for a new sensor when the sensor is added. A communication control apparatus is provided which includes input/output lines for connecting an input/output unit and a central control unit to each other and used for transmitting data, the central control unit is provided with an analog to digital converter and is used for carrying out processing of load control based on input data coming from the input/output lines, and the input/output unit. An input side of the input/output unit is connected to sensors and an external switch whereas an output side of the input/output unit is connected to a load such as a motor. The communication control apparatus wherein the input/output lines include transmission lines B,and B,for transmission of digital data and a transmission line A,for transmission of analog data, and the input/output unit transmits specific data indicating a channel of analog data through the transmission line B,when transmitting the analog data.

Communication control apparatus

A transmitting apparatus of simple circuit configuration is provided as having turn off time (cut off delay time) of an output transistor shortened. The potential of a low-level signal is inputted to an input terminal of a first transistor through a resistor. The potential of a high-level signal is inputted to an input terminal of a second transistor through a resistor. A control circuit is connected to the input terminals of the first and second transistors and when a high-level signal is to be transmitted to the communication line, the control circuit enters a high-impedance state with respect to the input terminal of the first transistor and outputs a low-level signal to the input terminal of the second transistor. When a low-level signal is to be transmitted over the communication line, the control circuit outputs a high-level signal to the input terminal of the first transistor and develops a high-impedance state with respect to the input terminal of the second transistor.

Transmitting apparatus for outputting a binary signal

This vehicle communication system is suitable for high speed communication with small signal distortion. The communication system for a vehicle includes, provided with charge and discharge that allow a distributed capacitance of a signal line to be discharged by making a stored charge by-pass a pull-up resistor, or causing the distributed capacitance of the signal line,to be charged up by making a charge by-pass a pull-up resistor. The charge and discharge units charge or discharge for only a fixed period of time. This fixed period of time is shorter than 1 bit length of the signal, from when transistors are switched from on to off. For a node connected through the signal line, this fixed period of time is longer than the time taken for a reception circuit that is providing a reception signal from the signal line to switch on or off.

Vehicle communication system

A communication control device comprises a state change detecting section for outputting, upon detection of a state change in parallel input control signals, a transmission control instruction to a transmitting section. A standby time is provided between the time of detection of the control signal state change and the time of commencement of transmission of the serial signals by the transmitting section. For control signals to operate a controlled object at a desired time, the state change detecting section outputs the transmission control instruction a communication time plus the standby time earlier than the desired time.

A communication system for a vehicle, provided with a balanced cable connecting respective nodes and a comparator for obtaining a receive signal by differentially amplifying a signal from the balanced cable, for carrying out communication between respective nodes, being further provided with a unit for limiting signals input to each input terminal of the comparator to values in mutually different fixed ranges. To provide a failure diagnosing circuit capable of carrying out failure diagnosis of respective switching elements of a bridge circuit without rotating a motor. Pull up/down terminals and as well as monitor terminals are respectively connected to both input terminals of a motor. A method and device are provided for adjusting the height of a motorcycle equipped with a motorcycle-height changing device for increasing and decreasing the height of the motorcycle in accordance with the operation of an actuator controlled in accordance with information on the speed of the motorcycle. Thus, an operational delay can be prevented from occurring when stopping the motorcycle by an abrupt deceleration. In addition, the height of the motorcycle can be increased to a high value quickly even at the time the motorcycle is started. A first piece of set speed information is set for starting the operation of the actuator to decrease the height of the motorcycle, and a second piece of set speed information different from the first set speed information is set for starting the operation of the actuator to increase the height of the motorcycle.

A centralized electrical equipment control system controls the electrical equipment of a vehicle and provides the capability of reducing the manufacturing cost while facilitating the modification and development of the electrical system of the vehicle. The electrical equipment control system has a central control unit including a microcomputer and a communication circuit. The microcomputer exchanges data through the communication circuit via a communication network with respective communication circuits of an ignition I/O unit, a meter I/O unit and a flasher I/O unit to control the I/O units. An auto cruise control method and device for a vehicle such as a motorcycle allows the vehicle to operate at a constant set speed while avoiding acceleration or deceleration shock after the auto cruise device is temporarily or permanently operated to change the vehicle speed. Therefore, a smoother ride is provided. Also, a final acceleration change rate can be corrected by considerating factors such as slope, wind, load weight, variation in engine output and non-linearity of engine torque characteristics. Moreover, when the speed is to be changed or when operation of the auto cruise device is to be resumed, the speed of the vehicle can be smoothly shifted.

Constant vehicle speed operation control method and device

A reverse drive for small vehicles in which an output shaft of a second motor, which is different from the internal combustion engine for running use, can be connected to the transmission line leading from the internal combustion engine to the rear wheel so as to rotate the rear wheel in reverse. The second motor is a starter motor capable of normal and reverse rotations, the normal rotation of the starter motor being transmitted to the internal combustion engine for driving use through a starting clutch, and the reverse rotation of said starter motor being transmitted to the power transmission line through a reverse clutch. Otherwise, the second motor may be a starter motor capable of rotating only in one direction. In this case, the output of the starter motor is transmitted to the output side of the power transmission line through a reverse transmission line while the output transmission line is interrupted.

Reverse drive for small vehicles

An improved vehicle reverse control system having a power circuit for a starter motor for starting an engine. The circuit may include a control element for controlling the starter motor, in combination with separate control elements for starting the engine and for controlling reverse operation, at least one of which may be located on or near the operator's handle grip. The circuit may also include an element which detects reverse operation and an element which suppresses the starter motor whenever the vehicle is operated in reverse. The circuit may also include an element for detecting when the engine is operating and an element for disabling reverse operation of the starter motor when the engine is operating. The circuit may also include elements for suppressing engine start and for suppressing reverse operation, disposed so that the starter motor may be controlled for only one of the two operations at a time.

Vehicle reverse control device

There is disclosed a multiplex communication method of transferring data between a plurality of nodes via a single signal line in a time sharing manner. The data transmitted from each of the nodes includes a start bit, data bits and a parity bit in a serial order. The data is associated with and interposed between a start signal and a stop signal. Each of the start bit, data bits and parity bit is composed of a forward half portion representing data contents and a rearward half portion representing a gap. Signal levels of the forward and rearward half portions of each bit are in inverted relation to each other. It is determining whether the signal levels of the forward and rearward portions of each bit of the data recieved by each of said nodes are in inverted relation to each other, thereby deciding that the received data is correct if such inverted relation is detected.

Multiplex communication method

A multiplex communication system suitable for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The system comprises a single signal line and a plurality of nodes or communication units connected to the single signal line. Each node is assigned a specific node address and has a microcomputer which includes a transceiver section connected to the signal line for outputting data in the form of a start-stop signal thereto and for receiving data therefrom. The data outputted from each node includes source address data representative of the specific node address of a respective one of the nodes and destination address data representative of the specific node address of one of the nodes to which the data is to be transmitted. Each of the nodes stores the data received from the signal line when the destination address data included in the received data coincides with the node address thereof. The transceiver sections of the nodes cooperate with the signal line to form a preferential circuit wherein one of two signal levels of each of the start-stop signals simultaneously outputted onto the signal line has a priority over the other of the two signal levels. The microcomputer of each of the nodes is so programmed as to compare the data outputted from the transceiver section thereof with the received data bit by bit to detect a collision of data on the signal line when the two data differs from each other. Each of the nodes stops the output of data when the collision of data is detected.
