An objective of the invention is to obtain a structure which allows a cleaning mechanism, such as dust removal means, for an air filter to be easily mounted in an indoor unit of an air conditioner that has an air filter on the intake side of an indoor fan. The indoor unit is constituted by a main unit () including an indoor heat exchanger () and an indoor fan () for blowing air taken from a room to the indoor heat exchanger (), a cleaning unit () located on the room side of the main unit () and including an air filter () and dust removal means () for removing dust captured by the air filter (), and an indoor panel () for covering the room side of the cleaning unit ().

Indoor unit of air conditioner

A casing () of an indoor unit () contains an indoor fan (), an air filter (), and an indoor heat exchanger (). The indoor unit () includes: a divider plate () which includes an air hole () for attaching the air filter () therein, and divides space inside the casing () into a room upstream of an air flow passing through the air filter (), and a room downstream of the air flow passing through the air filter (); a dust removing mechanism () for removing dust trapped on the air filter (); and a dust container () for containing the dust which is removed by the dust removing mechanism (), and is transferred through a transfer duct (). The indoor heat exchanger () is arranged around the indoor fan (), and the dust container () is arranged below the indoor heat exchanger ().

In an indoor unit of an air conditioner including an air filter arranged on a suction side of an indoor fan, dust trapped on the air filter is reliably and efficiently removed by a simple structure. For that purpose, an indoor unit () is provided with a dust remover () for removing dust trapped on an air filter () arranged on a suction side of an indoor fan (), and a filter presser () for pressing a frame () of the air filter () so as to press the air filter () against the dust remover (). The air filter () is configured to move relative to the dust remover (), and the filter presser ().

An air filter () intermittently rotates by a predetermined rotation angle at each time, while being in contact with a bristle portion () of a rotating brush (). Accordingly, dust on the air filter () is scraped by the bristle portion (). The brush member () rotates about an axial center of a shaft () at each stop of the intermittent rotation of the air filter (), to come into contact with a cleaning brush member (). According, dust on the brush member () is removed by the cleaning brush member ().

An indoor unit of an air conditioner includes: a casing (); an indoor fan (); an air filter (); an inlet port () in which the air filter () is attached, and a divider plate () for dividing space in the casing () into a room upstream of air passing through the air filter () and a room downstream of air passing through the air filter (). The indoor unit conditions room air sucked into the casing () through the air filter (). The indoor unit includes a rotating brush () for removing dust trapped on the air filter (), and a dust container () for containing the removed dust. An access opening () which allows for checking of an electrical component box () in the casing () is formed in the divider plate (), and an access lid () for closing the access opening () is provided.

An indoor unit () of an air conditioner () including: a filter member () for trapping dust contained in air sucked through an inlet (); a dust removing means () configured to remove the dust trapped on the filter member () from the filter member (); and a dust container () for containing the dust removed from the filter member () by the dust removing means (), wherein the indoor unit () further includes a container lifting/lowering means () for lifting/lowering only the dust container () relative to the casing ().

An indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a filter member for trapping dust; a dust removing mechanism for removing the dust from the filter member; and a dust container for containing the dust removed from the filter member. The indoor unit further includes a container lifting/lowering mechanism for lifting/lowering the dust container relative to a casing; and a drive unit capable of alternatively performing removal operation by engaging with a dust removing mechanism to drive the dust removing mechanism, and lifting/lowering operation by engaging with a container lifting/lowering mechanism to drive the container lifting/lowering mechanism.
