There is provided an electric wirecomprising an electrically-conductive conductor portion and an insulating cover portioncovering the conductor portion. A colored markeris provided on an end portion of the cover portion. The colored markerindicates that the electric wire is a manually-incorporated wire. A circuit identifieris provided on an intermediate portion of the cover portion. The circuit identifieris made by printing or provided in the form of a mark and indicative of a connection destination of the electric wire. The colored marker in the end portion is made by an ink inferior to that of the circuit identifier on the intermediate portion in at least one property selected from among adhesiveness, weatherability, heat resistance, and chemical resistance.

Wiring harness and manufacturing method thereof

An electric wire whose outer surface has a portion to be colored as required is manufactured by forming a plurality of recesses on the portion of the outer surface of the electric wire, which has a core wire and an insulating jacket that covers an entire periphery of the core wire, and then applying a coloring material to the portion of the outer surface of the electric wire. The recesses may be provided by blowing abrasive grains against the portion or by pricking the portion with one or more needles.
