A load support device and load support systems. The load support device may include a body. The body may include a first fixed bollard. The body may additionally include a pivotable bollard. The pivotable bollard and the first fixed bollard may be configured such that friction is applied to a line between the first fixed bollard and the pivotable bollard without locking the line to preclude movement in response to a force applied to the pivotable bollard. A load support system may include a load support device and a line threaded through a body of the load support device in one of several different line configurations.

Load support device and system

A device for ascending or descending using the single rope technique. The device includes a clamping mechanism that has a plurality of clamping segments interconnected by a flexible spine arrangement. A release mechanism is coupled to the clamping mechanism. A reduction mechanism is coupled to the release mechanism. The reduction mechanism includes a body portion having a rope slot configured to accommodate the single rope and a housing portion disposed over the body portion. The housing portion includes a cammed groove configured to accommodate the single rope. The cammed groove is rotatably aligned with the rope slot. The reduction mechanism is movable with at least two degrees of freedom between the clamping position and the released position. The reduction mechanism is configured to frictionally engage the single rope in the released position.

Safety device

An ascending/descending assembly is simple, strong, safe, easy to use, and can be used with either single rope or double rope technique. The assembly includes at least first, second, and third (and preferably fourth and fifth) clamping elements. Each element has a first side edge, a first end edge, a main opening large enough for a rope extending in a first dimension through it, and a slot extending between the first side edge and the opening, the slot allowing a rope to pass through the slot into the opening. A connecting element (such as a chain) is operatively pivotally connected adjacent the first end edges of each of the clamping elements.

Combination ascender/descender

A remote attachable/remote releasable hook apparatus comprises a hollow braid rope or cable, a tail having unidirectional properties, wherein the tail preferably includes a leaf chain or roller chain threaded or braided through the hollow braid rope or cable, and a hook assembly attached to the tail, wherein the hook assembly preferably includes a C-shaped hook having rounded outside edges and a middle leg attached to the C-shaped hook.
