A catheter system including a wire, a translatable catheter, and first and second tethers is introduced into a body of a subject. The translatable catheter has a curved portion proximate a distal end of the translatable catheter. The first tether is coupled to the wire, and passes proximally through the translatable catheter. The second tether is attached to the curved portion. The catheter system is positioned such that the wire is disposed at a first location in the body. While the wire remains at the first location, the translatable catheter is translated away from the wire by manipulating the first tether and the second tether. Other embodiments are also described.

Translation catheters, systems, and methods of use thereof

A handle shaft is disposed at a proximal end of a catheter. A wire extends from a distal part of the catheter, proximally through the catheter to the handle shaft. A knob is disposed outside of the handle shaft. A threaded mechanism provides operative coupling between the knob and the handle shaft such that (i) rotation of the knob with respect to the handle shaft alters tension in the wire via the threaded mechanism functioning as a linear actuator; and (ii) non-rotational axial movement of the knob with respect to the handle shaft alters tension in the wire without the threaded mechanism functioning as a linear actuator. Other embodiments are also described.

Catheter system with linear actuation control mechanism

The present teachings provide systems, devices, and methods for reshaping the heart and reducing valve regurgitation. A device can be positioned proximate the heart and have a delivery profile and an inflated profile. The device can have a primary cavity and a secondary cavity, and an adhesive inside the secondary cavity. An injectable medium can be injected to the primary cavity of the device. As the primary cavity is filled, the adhesive is forced out of the secondary cavity to adhere the device. The inflated device can exert pressure on the heart, change the shape of a valve annulus, and allow a better coaptation of the valve leaflets.

Tissue cutting systems and methods

The present teachings provide a delivery catheter with a deflectable tip and the deflection angle of the deflectable tip can be accurately controlled. Specifically, the delivery catheter includes a deflectable distal tip operably coupled to a pull wire, an elongated catheter portion, and a control mechanism. The control mechanism is configured to activate a rapid transformation of the deflectable tip from its linear profile to its curved profile. The control mechanism further includes a linear actuation mechanism. Such linear actuation mechanism converts a rotation motion of the control mechanism to a precise linear motion, which in turn accurately controls the bend angle of the deflectable tip of the delivery catheter. Such control mechanism can be used in applications that require the control of the distal deflection of the catheter, such as EP catheter, trans-septal device, and other devices.

The present teachings provide devices and methods of reshaping the right heart and reducing tricuspid valve regurgitation. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides an inflatable device to be deployed in the space between the sternum and the right heart. An injectable medium is injected to the cavity of the device. Once the device is filled, the device is detached from the delivery system, and released inside the body. The inflated device exerts pressure to the right heart, changes the shape of the tricuspid annulus, and allows a better coaptation of the tricuspid leaflets.

System and method for reshaping right heart

The present teachings generally relate to translation catheter systems and method of using thereof in treating defective mitral valves. Specifically, a translation catheter system includes a catheter configured to move substantially laterally along the mitral annulus and the lateral movement of the catheter is substantially continuous and substantially adjustable. Accordingly, a method of using such a translation catheter includes advancing a first wire across the mitral annulus at a first treatment location, delivering a catheter at or near the first treatment location, moving the catheter substantially laterally to a second treatment location, and advancing a second wire across the mitral annulus, where the distance between the first and second treatment locations is substantially adjustable and optionally visualized.

Described is a delivery system for minimally invasive delivery of a self-expandable stent to a body lumen, and particularly delivery of a prosthetic valve to the right ventricular outflow tract. Also described is a method of loading a stent onto such a delivery system, and a method of delivering a self-expandable stent to a desired anatomic site.

Infundibular reducer device delivery system and related methods

The present teachings provide devices and methods of treating a tricuspid valve regurgitation. Specifically, one aspect of the present teachings provides devices and methods of identifying a suitable location on the tricuspid annulus, placing a wire across the tricuspid annulus at such an identified location, deploying a tissue anchor across such an identified location, deploying two or more tissue anchors and coupling the tissue anchors with a flexible tensioning member, and applying tension to a flexible tensioning member that is coupled with the two or more tissue anchors, plicating tissues between each pair of the two or more tissue anchors, and reducing the circumference of the tricuspid annuls. As a result, a regurgitation jet is reduced or eliminated.

Translation catheters and systems

A stent frame including an annular portion having first and second ends, a central longitudinal axis, and a wire portion with at least two extending posts and a generally sinusoidal series of peaks and valleys between each of the at least two extending posts; an atrial portion extending from the first end of the annular portion, wherein the atrial portion includes a plurality of flares that extend radially outward relative to the longitudinal axis of the annular portion; and a ventricular portion extending from the second end of the annular portion, wherein the ventricular portion includes at least one flare that extends radially outward relative to the longitudinal axis of the annular portion.

Stented heart valve devices

A catheter based medical device is provided for a percutaneous surgical procedure that provides forward-looking visualization and delivery of a medical device. The catheter includes a carriage at its distal end and an ultrasonic transducer is supported by the carriage. A conduit that has its proximal end disposed within the catheter and the conduit passes through the sidewall of the catheter proximate to the distal end of the catheter so that the distal end of the conduit is disposed on an exterior of the sidewall of the catheter. A medical device is deliverable through the lumen of the conduit and the ultrasonic transducer provides visualization of the medical device distally of the transducer.

Described is a prosthetic valve assembly comprising: a radially self-expandable stent configured to expand to bear against a wall of a native body lumen; and an implantable prosthetic valve, having a diameter, the valve being mounted inside the stent; wherein the diameter of the stent is greater than the diameter of the prosthetic valve.
