Provided is a lighting apparatus and a method for controlling the same using a mobile device. A lighting system may include a mobile terminal, a hub configured to communicate with the mobile terminal, and an LED lamp configured to communicate with the hub. The mobile terminal may be configured to display an image captured or focused using a camera at the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal may transfer to the hub information corresponding to a selection of a region of the image. The hub may provide a wireless signal corresponding to the information received from the mobile terminal for changing a color of light emitted by the LED lamp. The LED lamp may be controlled based on the ZigBee communication protocol.

An air conditioner is provided. The air conditioner may include a case, first and second discharge ports disposed on opposite sides of the case to discharge air, at least one discharge vane rotatably disposed at each of the first and second discharge ports, and an operation panel disposed between the first and second discharge ports. The operation panel is movable to selectively vary a discharge area of each of the first and second discharge ports. The discharge are selectively rotatable when not covered by the operation panel to vary an air flow direction.

An air conditioner is provided. The air conditioner may include a case, a first discharging port provided at a first side of the case and a second discharging port provided at a second side of the case, each selectively discharging air therefrom based on an operation mode of the air conditioner. A movable panel connected to the case may be movable between the first discharging port and the second discharging port. A transfer direction of the movable panel may also be determined based on the operation mode of the air conditioner.

The device may include an input device receiving input information regarding operation of the air conditioner, a controller comparing the input information with previously mapped information and controlling the operation of the air conditioner, and an output device outputting primary information regarding the operation of the air conditioner based on a control command received from the controller. Secondary information may be visually or audibly changed and output by the output device corresponding to a change in the primary information. A method of controlling such a device may include changing input information regarding operation of the air conditioner, changing and outputting primary information in response to the change in the input information, and visually or audibly changing and outputting the secondary information based on the change in the primary information.

Display device for air conditioner and method of controlling the display device

A display device of an air conditioner and an air conditioner having the same are provided. The display device may include a display including a film configured to allow display of an image corresponding to operation information of the air conditioner and that enables a touch input; a controller that controls display of the image; and a light emitting device that emits light toward the film. The controller may display the image on the display, receive a command concerning the operation information via the touch input, and change the image according to the touch input.
