Provided is a refrigerator with an ice maker. The ice maker includes an ice tray formed of a metal material, the ice tray providing an ice making space in which water for making an ice is supplied to make the ice and a resin layer formed of a plastic resin, the resin layer defining at least portion of the ice making space to smoothly convey the ice.

The present disclosure relates to pressure control in a vegetable room of a refrigerator, and particularly, to a vegetable room of a refrigerator in which pressure is controlled according to vegetable, fruit, and mixture modes. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a vegetable room of a refrigerator in which different pressures are applied according to vegetable, fruit, and mixture modes such that each pressure corresponds to storage conditions of storage items such as vegetable and fruit stored in an airtight state therein, whereby each storage item is maintained with optimal freshness.

Disclosed are an ice maker, a refrigerator having the ice maker, and a method for supplying ice of the refrigerator. An ice making container long in a vertical direction is installed on a side wall surface of a refrigerator door, makes ice, and pushes up the ice by screws to release the ice, whereby the size of the ice maker can be reduced, the area occupied by the ice maker can be reduced, and a refrigerator having the ice maker can become slimmer. Also, because an installation height of the ice maker is lowered to shorten a cold air supply path and prevent a loss in the process of supplying cold air to the ice making chamber. Also, because a cutting operation is performed simultaneously when the ice is lifted, a fabrication cost can be reduced and a defective state due to malfunction can be prevented.

Disclosed is a refrigerator, comprising: a refrigerator body having a cooling chamber; a case comprising a case body having therein an accommodation space of which one side is open, and a transformation preventing member formed of a material having a higher strength than that of the case body, the transformation preventing member provided at an open region of the case body and configured to prevent transformation of the case; a drawer accommodated in the case in a withdrawable manner; and a depressurizing device configured to depressurize inside of the drawer and the case to a pressure lower than an atmospheric pressure, when the drawer is accommodated in the case. Under such configuration, transformation of the case can be prevented, and the case can be easily fabricated.

The vegetable room for keeping vegetables in storage in a refrigerator, includes: a storage chamber configured to keep food items in storage therein; a controller configured to adjust pressure within the storage chamber; and a vacuum pump configured to draw in air within the airtight storage chamber, wherein the controller may selectively adjust pressure according to a storage item kept in storage within the storage chamber, whereby the vegetable room of the refrigerator may have a plurality of operation modes.

A refrigerator includes a drawer, a sealing member disposed between a case and a front part to seal the inside of the case, a manipulation member disposed on the drawer, and a sealing apparatus for closely attaching the front part to the case and maintaining the front part closely attached to the case by the manipulation of the manipulation member. The sealing apparatus includes a hook part disposed on the case and a latch member connected to the manipulation member on the front part to move according to the manipulation of the manipulation member, thereby being inserted into the hook part, the latch member being configured so that the front part moves toward the case and is closely attached to a front surface of the case according to a contact state with the hook part.

A refrigerator includes a refrigerator main body, a case forming a storage space with a front surface open, a drawer received in the case to be drawn out, a sealing apparatus having hooks disposed on the drawer and rotatable between a sealing position of maintaining a sealed state with being engaged with the case and a release position of releasing the engaged state with the case, and hook springs applying an elastic force to the hooks to be rotated to the sealing position, a manipulation handle rotatably disposed on the drawer and rotating the hooks to the release position when being pulled, and an operation bar to transfer a driving force of the manipulation handle to the hooks. Accordingly, reception and sealing of the drawer may be simultaneously realized and unsealing and drawing-out of the drawer may also be simultaneously realized.

The refrigerator may include a refrigerator body having a storage compartment formed therein, a rotatable door to open or close the storage compartment, a gasket provided between the door and the refrigerator body, a storage container that may be selectively coupled to the door or to the refrigerator body, a storage container support device provided at the door, the refrigerator body or the storage container to allow the storage container to be selectively coupled to and supported by the refrigerator body or the door, and a control device provided in the door to selectively control operation of the storage container support device from an exterior of the door.
