A display apparatus includes a display panel, a light source part and a directional light projecting element. The display panel displays a first image during a first subframe and a different second image during a second subframe. The light source part provides light to the display panel. The directional light projecting element is disposed between the display panel and the light source part. The directional light projecting element includes a barrier part and a lens part disposed above the barrier part. The barrier part has a plurality of barriers defined as a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes crossing the first electrodes. The lens part has a plurality of lenses disposed in a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction. Each of the lenses corresponds to a subset of plural lenses among the plurality of the barriers.

Method of detecting a touched position on a touch display of a display apparatus includes determining an amount of an electrical charge generated by a touch on the touch display panel of a display apparatus, determining a difference between the amount of the electrical charge generated from the touch and an amount of a reference electrical charge and comparing this difference to a threshold value, detecting the position of the touch if it is determined that the difference between the amount of the electrical charge generated from the touch and the amount of the reference electrical charge is substantially the same as or larger than the threshold value and detecting the touched position using a pressure according to the touch if it is determined that difference between the amount of the electrical charge and the amount of the reference voltage is smaller than the threshold value.

A light source assembly including a light source part, a light guide plate and a light-condensing sheet. The light source assembly generates light and includes at least one light source. The light guide plate includes an incident surface to which the light is incident, an opposing surface which is opposite to the incident surface, and an exiting surface which emits the light, and has a thickness which is gradually increased from the incident surface to the opposing surface. The light-condensing sheet includes a plurality of reverse prism patterns which protrude toward the exiting surface, extend along an arc of a circle, and are arranged in a concentric circle structure.

A parallax barrier panel includes a first and second substrate and a fluidic layer disposed therebetween. The first substrate includes first electrode parts, a water-repellent layer and a partition wall. Each of the first electrode parts includes a main electrode and a first notch electrode and a second notch electrode. The main electrode extends in a first direction on a first base substrate. The first and second notch electrodes are adjacent to respective ends of the main electrode. The first and second notch electrodes extend along the main electrode in the first direction. The second substrate includes a second electrode part and a second base substrate, the second electrode part being disposed on the second base substrate. The second base substrate is disposed opposite to the first base substrate. The fluidic layer controls a light transmittance according to a voltage difference between the first and second electrode parts.

Parallax barrier panel and display apparatus having the same

A light sensing assembly includes a first light guide plate ('LGP'), a light-emitting diode ('LED') part, an infrared LED part, a second LGP and a first sensor array. The LED part is at a side portion of the first LGP and emits white lights of a displayed image. The infrared LED part emits infrared lights of a detected touch. The second LGP is below the first LGP. The second LGP guides a path of the infrared lights of the detected touch inputted in accordance with a touch operation. The first sensor array is at a side portion of the second LGP and senses the reflected infrared lights which are guided by the second LGP.
